[Well, this is...happening. This is a thing. This is your life now. The Commander is expecting you to just up and kill one another, and then try to get away with it. No big deal, right? You guys can handle this. You won't fall for what she has. She's clearly an idiot. A loud idiot, but still an idiot. She's not going to get one over you.

In any case, the Commander's quarters are now open for anyone who decides they can actually stand to be in the same room as her, but beware - any favor you might ask of her is going to come at a price, and who knows what she'll ask you to do if you decide to gain a boon from her. Unless you're a suck-up like Baku - then she'll apparently be flattered. Maybe that's a good tactic to use?

While we're talking about all of this, and this is slightly related to powers... I would like to introduce myself. I am the Baku, a demon that devours nightmares. No, you may not have my name. Even if I remembered it, I would not give it over willingly. But I also cannot form contracts with anyone here. I find myself unable to eat nightmares. So they effectively turned me into a human. I find that level of power those in charge have quite disturbing. Largely I should be unable to gain any degree of sustenance from human food. So that's something to keep in mind.

I also find it quite disturbing they managed to trap myself, as well. All things considered, even though I'm in a human vessel, I should have some amount of power. For example, in the House, on the School Grounds, all the doors still opened for me despite my being in a human body.

Their ability to... interfere is disturbing indeed.

It's what gives me sustenance. Dreams don't. Simple as that.

[ A shrug. He figured it'd come up eventually? ]

I mean, I could if I wanted to, but... Like normal food before here, I'd get nothing from it. It's be empty filler.

[ Huh. It's strange, to Akira, but then what's normal, to him, about eating dreams...

But, also, why would only nightmares do it? Is fear and various other negative emotions really the only things that do it for him? ]

What happens to the person after you eat their nightmares? Does it do anything to them other than erase the bad dream from their minds?

[ Honestly, he's just curious to know if it's really anything like what the stories back home claim. He can't recall ever having actually seen signs of a baku. ]

I mean, they sleep better? That's about it. I extract them and they kind of make black star shapes. Think cookies, almost.
