WEEK 3

[It has begun. With the death of the Spinner and the execution of the Indulgent, they remaining Titled will be plagued once more by vivid dreams. And just as last week, they are awoken by the sounds of doors creaking open.

Just like last week. But no one had died last week. Right? No one had been subjected to that...thing.

And yet the strange, cold feeling of foreboding remains. And it is certainly most worrisome to those living in rooms 3, 4, 6, and 15. Those who pass by room 7 and 8 will feel that same, worrisome feeling of foreboding as well.

What will they wake up to find? Who knows, now. If dragons are real, anything is possible.

There are thirteen strangers in this place.]

[He tenses slightly at the term 'dragonslayer', though he fortunately doesn't remember the full extent of what the term should mean to him.]

It's still not going to be easy to kill something that big. Is anyone here good with a sword?

[ Maglor shrugs wryly ]

Obviously, I am. But I would suggest a united approach, and I would welcome another's blade. I can teach, at need.

...If you're planning to try and take down that dragon, i'm game. I want to fight and help somehow if you'd let me.

[ He'd been nearby anyway when the suggestion was made, and the otherwise grim and serious look on his face said he wasn't at all playing around with this. He really wanted to take the stupid dragon down as well. ]

[ Another world, another time, and Maglor might have said "no".

But he's seen Killua fight, has sparred against him himself, now ]

I would be honored to fight by your side.

Awesome! I think we can probably do it then, if we got lots of capable people willing to take this thing on.

[ Oh yeah, he's excited - and happy - that Maglor acknowledges his strength for what it's worth. ]

I have fought dragons before. I will enjoy seeing this one die.

I am. But dragons are difficult to fight even in good circumstances. I've only seem them killed with magic.

I'm not sure that was a dragon either.

[bythewaves]

I find most things die when you know where to hit them. Eventually. Was it like this one?

[kiddefender]

The one I saw was already dead... It didn't stay dead though.

Adventures had taken it's teeth and claws, most of it's scales. But it just grew them back...[Her tail bristles, do you really need a dragon corpse describing?]

[ He hums thoughtfully ]

Yours sounds like sorcery's work. A necromancer - although it takes considerable power to bring back one of the firedrakes of old. What do you think of the one here?

[kiddefender]

No... Dragons are very powerful creatures with their own magic. This one resented humans for killing it. It kept that hate even in death, the moment the curse sensed us it awakened.

The one here... It reminds me of something else. But I can't think of what, other than it wasn't a dragon.

[bythewaves]

[ He considers, thoughtfully ]

The one here... I think it is a construct, of some sort. Certainly, it does not move naturally, although that might just be the fact that it is very clearly being controlled by something.

[kiddefender]

But what could control something like that? Even the seals they have for dragons wouldn't work on that... Unless it was placed on an egg?

[Shudders.]

[bythewaves]

[ Maglor barks a soft sound that might have been laughter ]

Oh, you would be surprised. Their Maker could always control them, even when all others could not.

[kiddefender]

But how would you make something like that...

[She's not expecting an answer.]

[bythewaves]

No one knows. [ Maglor shrugs ]

But make them He did, for they did not exist before Him.

[kiddefender]

That means he'll have things like this. Doesn't he?

[bythewaves]

Not that He used in the War, but who knows what they found in Angband's dungeons? It would not surprise me.

[kiddefender]

Wait who are we talking about? This looks like it could be something that came through the waves back home or from Faubley.

[bythewaves]

[ Maglor pauses, blinks ]

Ah... sorry, I think I got a little distracted in my past. But I was referencing Morgoth, the First Enemy, if you like. But here, I do not know, save that it reeks of the dark arts.
