WELCOME ABOARD


[The first sensation you feel is a headache. It's brief, slicing, sharp. It passes soon after you wake up, but it is there nevertheless, and the pain is not easily forgotten. Perhaps your eyes also blur as if roused from a deep sleep; perhaps your tongue also feels off, like you swallowed a bug. It's not pleasant.

More unpleasant, though, is the second sensation that dawns on you all-this is not your bed. This, in fact, is unrecognizable. It is not anywhere you recall coming to, willingly or otherwise. It's a room with a bunk, and there is a strange smell in the air that is hard to ignore.

No, you are no longer home. Any possessions you may have had on you are gone, save your clothing and a strange watch you can't get off, no matter how hard you try. And when you run into the hallway, well-you might find yourself running into others who might be just as confused and scared as you are as the area around you slowly sways, up and down, left and right.

What is this place? Why are you here? Who are all these other people?

well he doesn't seem to want to come out yet, which she supposes she can respect, all considered, even if trying to find a way out seems a little more relevant to everything going on.]

Do you just want someone to come find you if we find anything out here?

[she's not even sure how many people there are here yet, so that strategy feels to her like it has some flaws but uh whatever you want weird engine man.]

[She shakes her head, just a little.]

I'm sorry. I'm just.... I'm really scared.

Yes. I think that's what happened to everybody here. And, um... Call me Violet, I guess. I'm not sure we should be using our real names, since we don't know how much the person who kidnapped us really knows about us.

I really hope so too, because at the moment I'm not really sure what we could do about it if they decided to do something. There's... not very many places we can go on here.

[ She chuckles. She can't help it - fear is like catnip to her. Not that she'd try.

Power moves instead to squeeze one of Akane's arms. ]

You're skinny. Were I to devour you, t'would mostly be bone.

[ She makes to stand. She makes to try and yank Akane up with her. ]

A kitchen must be here! We should find thee food!

[WELL NOW THE DEMON IS DRAGGING HER OFF TOWARDS THE KITCHEN. Akane, being thin and tiny and frail and also scooted back in an awkward position really isn't in any position to fight being yanked up and being taken off to the kitchen.]

W-wait! I'd rather not be devoured!

[antiveg]

[ As she whiffs and lands, she spins around with a kick. She's clearly competent and even graceful in a ferocious sort of way, but she's no hand-to-hand martial artist. ]

Thou seemed game for conflict! Are thou not maddened by circumstance? Or are thou my captor?

[antiveg]

Tis the plight of livestock!

[ She's not deterred. If Power can bully Akane up to the pantry, she will. ]

Fear not - thou shall nourish a Nobel prize winner, the future Prime Minister! And I shall allow you to live for a while yet, so that you grow more meat!

[ She folds her arms. She takes a sniff of the air - does he smell human? ]

Has thou a memory of being brought thus?

[ Power, who has a pair of golden eyes with red crosshairs for pupils, narrows them. ]

The crime for which they're exterminated is drinking blood?

[ A little pause. ]

Are there any for which I should look out on your behalf?

I'd say it's more for unnecessarily harming humans or trying to kill them. I'm friends with a vampire back home, so it isn't like I can't tell the difference between those who are good and those who are not.

[ Though he cannot find the exact time in his mind WHEN he became friends with said vampire other than it has happened. Which was absolutely odd, like a gap in his memory he couldn't explain. ]

[ He cast a look down to what he was carrying, then back up to her. There's a much kinder look on his face now. ]

Once these have been put away, is there anything I could do for you, miss? I would not mind keeping you company if you needed it.

Then why hunt them at all? I know not the structures of religion, but by my understanding much seems outlined. Does thou think thyself just?

Too much of anything could kill someone. But...

[And she reaches out and plucks the coffee away from where it had been set before setting the package down next to the little pile of poisons.]

If you're just taking stock of anything that might be classed a drug or poison, this should be included, don't you agree?

[he blinks... then laughs in surprise. Its sinister, but natural.]

Indeed. I personally prefer "my assistant" though.
