[ Ursula is a very early riser (mostly because on the whole she gets very little sleep), and with her now properly-dyed blue hair, feels much safer leaving her hat behind and actually looking around. She'd already spoken with Croix, so stopping to find Akechi at the walled off staircases is no surprise after the other day. She's hauling a box of... something. Parts or somesuch. Probably for Croix. ]

Oh, good morning, detective. Already trying to investigate, I see! Find anything?

[He...might not be the best when it comes to sleep himself. Shhh. He steps back from the wall and turns to glance at her, shaking his head in disappointment.]

These walls appear to be entirely solid. At least, solid enough that we stand no chance of breaking them without appropriate tools.

[Maybe he should go get a mace...?]

... Are you saying we should try? That might not be a wise idea... "don't break anything that isn't yours" was in the rules, wasn't it?

[ She frowns, thoughtful. ]

[Hey, hey Ursula. Did you expect to see a spark of rebellious defiance in this soft-spoken young man's eyes, or a hint of a challenging smirk on his lips? Well, you are now.]

I don't see why we would be overly concerned about the rules if we were to make an escape attempt. Not at the immediate moment, of course, but once we find out a little bit more about where we are, and what our opposition would be like...

[ ... Oh, Akechi, she likes you. Still... it's her job to set a good example. ]

Well, I would still ask that you be careful. Perhaps you should allow me to do that when the time comes. We would be done a great disservice if you were harmed in some way for explicitly going against what Miss Coach said. And I would feel absolutely terrible if that happened.

Please remember that I am a detective, Callistis-san. I'm quite used to having to take some risks in the pursuit of justice.

Yes, but you're also still very young with an incredibly long life ahead of you. And it would be remiss of me to allow anyone younger than me to be hurt. I don't mean to imply you can't defend yourself, of course, it's just that we simply don't know the scope of everything they can do.

[ Akechi your future is too bright for this you deserve better!! ]

After all, they took Professor Croix and I's wands and our magic... and I would really hate to see such a nice young boy like you get hurt unnecessarily, when I could do something to help.

That would be why any escape attempts would have to wait, of course. But it would be unwise of you to underestimate me because of my age. Besides...

[And there's that fire in his eyes again.]

I was taken away from something rather important, and I quite resent being trapped. I do have reason to want to personally participate in facilitating our escape.

[ ... Her smile softens a little bit. He reminds her so much of one of her students... ]

Of course, I completely understand--I have to get back to my school. My students need me, and more than that, I have to help Akko search for the Words... she'll need a push in the right direction.

[ A small sigh. ]

... I'm sure we can figure something out.

For the moment, however, it doesn't seem as though these staircases will be of any use to us. I haven't been able to see what's at the top of them yet, regardless...
