UFO catcher prize + birthday

[This is silly, but since his money account is starting to empty, he has to try. Some stuff are rather simple. A weapon, tapioca, a mohawk wig, that's all easy to find. His chill is impossible to locate, so that's not an option. All in all, he manages to get $200, which is not a bad amount, as far as he's concerned.

But maybe...maybe earning $100 in one go is not a bad idea. So he has to touch an UFO catcher prize...

Britt is at the Barcade, looking at the UFO catcher. When someone approaches, he gets their attention]

So it says just touching the prize would be enough...you got any skills with this thing? Or can you disarm it? I'd break it, but I think someone would get pissy if I do that.

[After what happened with the barrier, maybe breaking rules isn't a good idea]

I've got a few. [ He sounds more proud than he has a right to be. ] Do you want me to try getting something for you?

[Other people doing something he wants them to do? Excellent! Although...now that he thinks about it, it's unlikely anyone would do this stuff for no reward. He glances at Wake]

[ Until Britt asks him if he wants something, that takes him by surprise. Uh. Does he...? He sizes up the prizes in the machine while answering. ] Oh, how about your star sign?

Can't say I have ever been interested in star stuff. It's kind of silly to think anything's defined by that.

I kind of agree, but it can be fun listening to people talk about them. Though, some of the students at my school take it too seriously. They even try to figure out how compatible they are using their signs.

[ Hey, that animal looks good! Not too small, not too big. He starts the machine up and starts messing with the controls. ]

So what, if they find out they're not compatible they stop getting along?

That or they decide not to get together. I guess the logic behind that is if they aren't compatible, why should they date?

[ One day Britt will learn that when it comes to Wake it's always about romance. ]

That's stupid. It's not like anyone will get struck by thunder just because they try to talk to someone they're "not compatible with"

[He even makes the finger quotes gesture]

I think they're afraid it won't work out. Unfortunately, some people prefer to avoid a potentially bad match instead of sticking it out.

[ And... amazingly? Wake manages to get one of the prizes on his first try. Guess he wasn't underselling those skills of his. It's a small but cute stuffed animal. He pulls it out of the machine and holds it up to Britt. ]

Huh. Thanks. [Britt just touches the stuffed animal with one finger. Done] That's one hundred bucks for us.

[...okay, may as well take it. Britt would really like to just walk away and leave Wake standing there with the plush animal, but...maybe it can be useful? Somehow? That's why he does take it, after a moment]

Okay, I guess I can keep this. I'm not into stuffed animals but what the hell, I'll keep it.
