EVIDENCE

We’re running some experiments with my creation, “Nephilix”, to determine her level of sentience.

The intent behind the robot’s current program is for it to enforce the rules and executions. That means it must be able to operate completely independently of us, with respect to our own rules that we may not directly interfere with the Game.

My original hypothesis was, if we can somehow create an entity with its own Soul, then what was born a mindless servant can now gain a will to act without the need for simple robotic programming. It would also not degrade into an antagonistic frequency, in theory!!

My first attempts to foster Soul inside the machine would be best compared to... a really bad meltdown. It’s not because of a lack of tools though... The three factors needed to accomplish the job are an understanding of the abstract code which is engendered in a Soul, the power needed to properly bind Souls, and of course Imagination. To meet those requirements, I created a Pin specifically to use for Nephilix.

Still, as of this report, the success rate is only on par with the minimum requirements for her duties…. Barely. So, maybe there’s a reason trying to make a completely new Soul just from random code hasn’t been done before. I’m pretty good with AIs, but even so, I may have to reconsider how she’s built anyway. Should I just try not to cross so many lines with the powers that be? Now I’ll pray for God to inspire me!
