Fighting For Your Life!

WELL SH*IKSSHSH*

[The first thing you feel when you finally come to is a headache.

The bad thing is that it's not even a painful headache - it's one of those annoying headaches that's just below the threshold of pain, and it's centered right in the middle of your forehead. Just...ugh. Where's the aspirin?

For that matter, actually, where are you? This is not your beautiful house! In fact, as get out of your bed, you realize this place isn't even remotely a home. And whatever you're wearing isn't even remotely what you recall wearing. (I mean, yeah, it's not uncomfortable, and whoever dressed you was kind enough to make sure you had underwear on, I suppose. That's one less thing to worry about, right?)

Also, you have a weird wrist...watch...comm...thing on you, which is nice. Or at least it would be, if it and every other computer in the place didn't suddenly start making the second most ungodly noise you will no doubt come to hear in this place. The noise is followed by a a message on every desktop in the area, which won't be disappearing any time soon. Thankfully, your nifty wristwatch comm is spared this unavoidable screen, and tapping a button let's it disappear to reveal a simple profile interface, alongside a a text, calling, and photo function. Something tells you those latter two won't be particularly useful to you in the long run.

In any case, apparently you now have a Title, as well as a power, even if you've never had one before. Why? Where the hell are you? Who else is with you? Can you get out?

And...is someone laughing? The sound seems to bounce off and echo faintly throughout the floors. It's high-pitched, and - as you get closer to the theater - it gets just a little louder and just a little more grating. It sounds like a rabid hyena that huffed helium. Hopefully, it's just a movie or something that can be turned off. Someone ought to go in and do that.

In the meantime, welcome, Titled - and good luck.

There are fifteen strangers in this place.]

((OOC: Welcome!

An inhalant would work.....I was already exhausted, so that part isn't hard. Getting to where I was, though...

[How did they get past the military and mercenaries, or dare crossing through the Shield of the Earth, even if it's harmless to most...? And then, through the roomful of grieving teenage assassins... They were all exhausted, but Ritsu doesn't need sleep. She, at least should have...

Unless it was the government. There would be full clearance, for a government agent...but.... In his head, Nagisa keeps going 'on the other hand' and pretty soon he has an octopus.]

Ah, you turned it on!

I did indeed!

[ Passepartout has no idea what to do next, however. The screen shows a menu with various simple functions, and he pokes at one which brings up the camera. It snaps a very low quality picture of the both of them and he looks somewhere between alarmed and impressed at this fact. ]
theserpentsmiles: (Well you're not the only one)

[personal profile] theserpentsmiles 2018-07-23 02:04 am (UTC)(link)
[Jean Passepartout, selfy king.]

!! It takes pictures.... [But why a...oh!] Maybe it's like a phone?
leftthelighton: (Default)

[personal profile] leftthelighton 2018-07-23 02:09 am (UTC)(link)
This would be rather small to be a telephone...

[ Passepartout looks really, really interested in something that could be so small and yet communicate a voice! ]
theserpentsmiles: (Who break their backs slaving every day)

[personal profile] theserpentsmiles 2018-07-23 02:11 am (UTC)(link)
Not necessarily... I've never seen one this small, but I wouldn't be too surprised if they could....the aesthetic is off, though.

[Too chunky? Smart watches with phone capabilities would be sleeker, right?]

I am starting to be shook by the fact this place holds far more advanced technology than I am used to and nobody else seems to be daunted by it.

[ Passepartout really has no idea what to do with this. ]
theserpentsmiles: (Get back or just get out)

[personal profile] theserpentsmiles 2018-07-23 02:18 am (UTC)(link)
[Nagisa took a peek in the computer room earlier...]

You'd call the technology here advanced? [Just curious!]
leftthelighton: (Default)

[personal profile] leftthelighton 2018-07-23 02:22 am (UTC)(link)
Quite so. I have never seen anything like it. Automatons, yes, but past that? [ He shakes his head. ]
theserpentsmiles: (I won't be pushed around)

[personal profile] theserpentsmiles 2018-07-23 02:26 am (UTC)(link)
Automotons? [Cool. Though, Ritsu probably counts.]

The wrist things might be new to me, but no one's had computers that look like the ones here since I was little.

[personal profile] leftthelighton 2018-07-23 02:28 am (UTC)(link)
Yes. Machines made in imitation of humans. With little crystals carved for their brains.... although humans are starting to replace their body parts in imitation of the automatons in return. [ He shakes his head. ] It defeats the point, I feel.

[ He pauses at what Nagisa has said, then. ]

Since you were little? Can I ask where you are from?
theserpentsmiles: (Well you're not the only one)

[personal profile] theserpentsmiles 2018-07-23 02:35 am (UTC)(link)
That kind of thing isn't commonplace, but probably exists, since we have AI... Do you mean replacing like prosthetics? [Because that seems normal enough, unless they're chopping off limbs specifically to get the prosthetics...]

I'm from Japan.
leftthelighton: (Default)

[personal profile] leftthelighton 2018-07-23 02:37 am (UTC)(link)
They are removing their own limbs to replace them with mechanical parts. There was nothing wrong with the limbs and they did not lose them by other means.

[ Passepartout considers the information given and then nods. ]

Japan could be as advanced as that. I have never been there. Now I wish to visit.
theserpentsmiles: (Do you feel like you're done?)

[personal profile] theserpentsmiles 2018-07-23 02:55 am (UTC)(link)
....Wouldn't that be expensive? [Why is that your issue with this.]

I'm pretty sure nowhere in the world has those big grey-beige computers anymore....
leftthelighton: (Default)

[personal profile] leftthelighton 2018-07-23 02:58 am (UTC)(link)
I am sure it is. I am also sure that they do not care.

[ Passepartout blinks at the latter statement. ] Anymore? I have not seen them anywhere in the world to start with...
theserpentsmiles: (Do you feel like you're done?)

[personal profile] theserpentsmiles 2018-08-01 01:59 am (UTC)(link)
They're really oldschool. From the '80s or '90s, maybe.
