THE THIRD INVESTIGATION

[As Friday dawns, all seems peaceful. No screaming. No electricity. Nothing in the bathrooms. All is quiet. However, it is a Friday, so there's no guarantee anymore that someone hasn't taken up Marie's offer. Even if they haven't, it's clear time is running out for a guaranteed means of escape. At least, if what Marie claims is true.

It's probably a good idea to look around and check up on people and places before going about one's normal day, regardless. Better safe than sorry, right?]

[Her hands were like her hands. It's maybe weird that Jonathan can notice that, but with Barbara so close and doing something he knows his partner would do it'd be even weirder if he didn't compare the two of them.

He also takes that bowl away when Jonathan is done, too. Don't need that sticking around.]

Don't feel like it, but... I'll try. But why can't I remember?

[He looks at Nagisa, bandaged and teary-eyed (and not wholly because of being sick), and feels very suddenly an absolute certainty that he is not the older brother at all. Not when he's being taken care of so often. He wants to just hide, bury his face against Nagisa's shoulder and sob, and not stop until his head doesn't hurt anymore.

Even though that's never how it works. Even though he's bigger and older and should be living up to Akira's request of him and making sure Nagisa isn't hurt.

All of this probably only looks like he's in pain, to anyone looking at his face. He is, of course, it is pain, but it is not simply the pain in his head....]
