Several moments later, the alarm sounds.]

ATTENTION! IT'S THAT TIME AGAIN!! EVERYONE COME TO THE ELEVATORS IMMEDIATELY FOR THE TRIAL!! AHAHAHAHA!!

[Once everyone comes down to the trial room, once more powers and weapons disappear when they enter the force field. The table has been updated to reflect those who are now, unfortunately, gone.

Bottson, meanwhile, hops up on the table, looking completely disinterested in what's happening, even as he processes and uploads the evidence given. The suspect list appears on everyone's wrist communicators.]

[It looks like it would if a person was shot. There’s otherwise very little indication that a cannonball or anything similarly sized and shaped was used to make any part of the back injury in question.]

No, this is definitely consistent with a gun wound. There's no indication on him anywhere that the cannonball was ever used.

Perhaps it was the object used to kill him? In that case, why a cannonball? Why not just... use the gun?

I don't know, but this isn't exactly something you fake. All trying to burn it did, if that's what happened, made it even more conspicuous.

Maybe they weren't trying to burn the cannonball so much as burn off whatever was on it.

... Actually, looking at the wound on his head, it's very possible a cannonball did kill him. It's big enough in size.

The wound was bloody, wasn’t it? Bleeding stops after death, so the wound would have to be... pre-mortem, is that the right term? But the laser weapons must’ve been burned before the paper, because if the paper went in first then it would be completely destroyed.

And the killer or the saboteur would have to get the note back from the victim, yes? Which they couldn’t do unless Passepartout was dead or incapacitated.
