FINAL INVESTIGATION
[Well, your time, your anger, your losses have led up to this.
It's time to go, and that blue card will give access to the floors above. In particular, there is the floor Barbara mentioned before the throne room, which seems to be a good idea to check out beforehand.
Indeed, it's much like the previous floors the Strangers had lived in, only smaller.]

[There is another elevator in the area, but that is inaccessible. Even using Marie's card doesn't seem to work on it. Hm. No matter. Marie's card works on all of these rooms, so it's fine, right?
In any case, if there's answers to be found about just whose in charge - and what in the world is going on - this is the last chance of finding them. You've all gotten this far, and as your teams descend on the rooms, you can feel the end is near. Hopefully, that end is not that of the universe - or of Ivy.
Good hunting, Titled.]

Still, Akira's tense... ]
... Let's get to it, then.
no subject
bitch, here you go. It's time! He'll insert the tapes and power up the machine, one tape after another. ]no subject
They have something much more in common now, huh? ]
... Okay.
[ Next, it's the Life Coach - Coco. Someone who'd wound up supporting them. Someone Akira had thought died during Helena's efforts to open those barriers. Someone he'd... heh. Given mouth-to-mouth to? She'd... even teased him for it. He wonders... how these people are doing, now. ]
Keep going.
[ ... Ursula Callistis - no.
Chariot du Nord. A big sister, and someone who'd been--... so damn important to him, and--... His eyes are stinging. He silently nods for C to move on to the next one. ]
...
[ It's the person who'd been in Yurick's position, now: Croix Meridies.
One more person who clearly loves Chariot, and someone else he'd grown to care so much about. He remembers how proud he became of the both of them. They'd become such a fearsome duo, by the end. Two strong and powerful people that Akira can only look up to, and continue believing in. Family. More than he'd ever even known, back home.
He swallows past the painful lump, ignoring the faintly blurry vision, and then nods for the next. ]
I'm okay.
[ Even if C didn't ask - it's more for himself, than for C, at this point.
And the next is-
It's... someone from home. His... boyfriend...? - Goro Akechi. Akira's mind is buzzing by this point. His jawline clenches, hands curling into fists, eyes tightly closed. He focuses on his breathing. He focuses on keeping calm. He nods for the last tape to be put in.
Which... brings him to everything that was after the end of the fight against Yotsuyu. Marie hadn't been lying during the trial, after all... And he has... two boyfriends. Two people he'd forgotten so fucking much about - no... Two people he'd been forced to forget everything about, on top of forgetting-- goddamn it!
... The second this is all over?
Akira very slowly gets up. He walks for a bit, until he gets to the nearest sturdy surface - a wall, and then... quietly leans against it. His hands curl against it, and he just... remains completely still, completely quiet - completely still, given he's not breathing. Fortunately, he catches that, and then takes in a deep breath, releasing it somewhat unsteadily. ]

Please remember to breathe. I know this is... hard. It was hard for me, too. But--but you're not alone.
no subject
I have... sisters - a whole family, from that first game that I was in... The Reaper's Game. [ a soft, wry laugh ] I have- two boyfriends.
[ Beneath everything else, there sure is something a tiny bit awkward as his thoughts briefly shift over to... Barbara? Hoo boy. ]
And, in the end, not everyone survived, after the mall. But-...
[ He's going to take a deep breath, ignoring the blurry vision, and then turn his head to look at C. He's... smiling? ]
Marie didn't lie. None of them are gone. They were given a choice... between returning to life or becoming Reapers. That's how I'm dating two Reapers... because I'm dating two people who did the same thing I did, in the end.
[ The laugh he gives is one of those laughs people sometimes give when they're somewhere between incredibly pissed off and... fighting tears, honestly. ]
no subject
[ He smiles. He will... gently wipe a tear from Akira's face with a gloved hand, giving him a reassuring look. Parental. Caring. ]
There's nothing to be sad about. It's okay. You're okay. You're here, still alive. You can return to them.
no subject
I'm... angry as hell, too... I can make a few guesses why they were the memories taken.
[ But, he takes a deep breath. There's a look of determination entering his gaze. ]
... You're right. I will return to them. After we finish this.
[ First, though? He's going to give this man another hug. ]
Thank you...

We killed Marie. Believe me, we were all just as mad and realized that was exactly why she did it. When she murdered Mister Passepartout, it was only fair she be executed for it and all she did to us. She won't be coming back.
There will be other things we have to direct that anger at. The people who roped us into this program, to start with.
no subject
Sorry, I should have asked first, or at least warned you...
[ His lips draw together tightly for a moment. ]
I'm not surprised she thought she'd be able to get away with murdering someone. She was just that type. [ a deep sigh ] So, yeah... let's take care of the ones that are left. We'll make them regret everything they did.
no subject
[ He gives a slightly tired smile. Today has been SO MUCH. ]
no subject
Want to find someplace to wash up before we head out?
no subject
[ His daughter. The purest, the most perfect one... dying in his arms... the memory is vivid and rough for him. ]
no subject
I'm glad to know that at least in that, Marie wasn't lying. I'll never forgive her for what she did to us though. It's almost tempting to find some way to bring her back just so we can punish her ourselves.
no subject
Considering the situations we were put through, at her hands, it would be only fair. She's done more than enough to warrant hatred from everyone here.
no subject
I wonder though, what would you have done differently if you'd have known? I did have my reasons for picking you since you could have ruined my cover quite easily.
no subject
Something big that you didn't remember, huh?
no subject
... Some of them stayed dead after all, but... [ letting his forehead rest against the wall now ] ... the ones that decided against coming back to life, became like solidified ghosts. And we didn't defeat Yotsuyu, technically. We were just too damn stubborn for her.
[ And he's laughing as he says that, but it's not a laugh that is really... humor-filled? Just tired, maybe - no, more like... tired and bitter. ]
But we were all heading home... We were going to Goro's timeline - ah...
[ He's releasing a deep breath and finally turning to face Naoya, letting his forehead drop onto his shoulder. The bitterness drains out as he says the next part. ]
... Goro Akechi. The culprit of the second week, and my first boyfriend. And we'd both just started dating Kurama, before all of this happened. Also they chose to become like solidified ghosts - Reapers.
[ So, he's dating two dead guys. Fun times. ]
no subject
[He strokes Akira's back gently, trying to rub in the spots he knows will relax him.]
And... hm. Well, hopefully the ghost thing won't be a problem if you choose to... engage in certain activities.
[Akira needs a laugh right now, okay.]
But I'm glad you remembered. You deserve to remember the people you care about.
no subject
Although, laughing isn't what he does, at first, when he moves back to stare at Naoya with a bit of a squint. It has to move through all the mess that is his mind, and so he briefly remains a stunned sort of quiet.
Once that brief moment passes, with him having turned a couple of shades darker, Akira's glancing to the side, one corner of his lips twitching a bit before he finally releases a quiet chuckle... that does ease into an outright laugh, just briefly. Granted, it's followed by him lightly punching Naoya in the shoulder, even as his tone is soft and genuinely appreciative of that obvious attempt at cheering him up. ]
... Thanks.
no subject
You're welcome. ... I know this can't have been easy, this sudden shock.
... You'll be all right, though. I believe in your resilience.
