LET THE GAME BEGIN
(SYD -> HNL)
[Well, good going, Yurick and Vita. You dun fucked up. Now it's a murdergame. Still, could be worse. It could be a certain screechy female commander in charge, right?
In any case, you are stuck here. It's frustrating, and as time goes by, being here is going to wear everyone down. Not to mention the scent of those damn leis just won't go away, even after you've tossed them aside. The air permeates with it, and combine that with recycled air that only makes things more irritating and pungent, the limited supply of essentials, the limited space even on this large plane, the horrible electricity situation, *and* the threat of the murdergame now ever-present over everyone's heads?
Things are not fun right now. And as time goes by, it's going to only get worse. It's just a question of how - and whether there's any escape before it becomes too much to bear.]
((OOC: Welcome to the week! We'll be doing things a little differently here - we will have a sub-heading for investigations to happen, where players can send their characters of to find clues. Just head over there and use the OoC map to help guide your characters to major clues if you so wish!
Of course, you can always court disaster for your character, courtesy of the RNG, if you so wish! As a result, there will also be a sub-heading revealing everyone's level of injury, which will start at a default number for everyone (except those already injured coming in, or injuries inflicted before the pilot's call!) at the beginning of the week! This can be raised as you see fit to inflict pain on your character - just remember to TAG ANY COMMENT THREAD FOR THE MODS if you want injury rolls! Just don't go too high - your character may not survive if you do!
GOOD LUCK! And remember - have a nice flight!))

Dazai. It was him, right?
He instantly went pale hearing the gunshot ring out, bringing silence to that voice and it stuns him long enough to hear the pilot speaking with some woman. Then there was a threat to hostages that had ties to everyone here, barely registering that and the mention of a Mr. Jones that sounded inherently familiar because of the ticket he found in Coach not long ago. His mind was on other things, frozen in place until he heard that BANG coming from Premiere class.
It was enough to have Atsushi running as FAST as he could to that location, a strange desperation about his actions. Not wanting to get there but at the same time, wanting to confirm everything. ]
No... No... No...
cw: death
Osamu Dasai is dead.]

Slumping down to his knees before the man's form, it takes a moment for Atsushi to even remotely be aware that the loud noise that ripped through Premiere Class was actually the sound of his own scream. Tears running down his cheeks and a hand reaching out until he could grasp the unmoving man's sleeve. ]
...W...Wake up, Dazai.... please...
[ He really wasn't going anywhere right now. He knew the man was dead but a part of him was hoping this was some kind of stupid dream. ]

is this the guy whose eyes will never leave his mind so help him god]

[Enjoy this guy screaming, Atsushi]

Then another for him to look over and see Hiyori there, seeming just about distraught as him but he wasn't sure why. Was it just seeing a dead body or something else he didn't know about? His mind was in a thousand places and feeling almost numb as Dazai's death actually started setting in. ]
...I didn't think... t-they'd actually do it...
[ A deep breath and he can't even bear to look away from Hiyori right now. ]
You seem... upset too... why is that...? He's... someone I kn... knew...
no subject
[In regards to the fact that Atsushi knew this person. Hiyori is trying so hard to keep up a bright chirping voice through his stress, it's obvious that he's not even fully processing the loss of a human life who could have bonded with someone.]
The truth is that... I saw he would... right here but I thought I had...
I just thought I had more time...! What's the point of seeing the future if—?
no subject
I... You didn't.... do it... I... don't apologize...
[ Keeping himself together is tough, and he's barely doing it with that thin level of numbness starting to set in. It's that which allows him even a shred of being able to function right now. ]
...if you can't... do a-anything to stop it? [ No, he's not mad that Hiyori had seen it. Clearly there was no way to have prevented this, since he knew that he hadn't seen Dazai here before. Then the thought hit him that if Dazai was here, maybe Kyouka and the rest of the Agency was here too?! ] I... I can't... I won't kill anyone here b-but I don't... want to lose anyone else...

[The words come out stiff and formal even though Hiyori's voice is strained with distress. He just is so not used to this situation that he has to think very hard to come up with any remotely appropriate words. "I'll protect everyone" doesn't come naturally to him the way it does Link.
He pats Atsushi on the shoulder. It just seems like the other young man is so alone with the cold body.]
Dazai-san, right...? Do you have some way you want us to... remember Dazai-san...???
[He wants to say something more poetic about how Dazai surely wants Atsushi to live or was sacrificing himself or something but Hiyori didn't get a very clear impression from that broadcast. He sounded brazen quite frankly. Hiyori at least senses that's not wise to say. He pats Atsushi a second time.]
no subject
Right. He couldn't let himself sink into that depression. Not now. ]
I...
[ His dichromatic eyes turned downwards to where Hiyori's hand was on his shoulders, giving a small nod to confirm Dazai's name but not initially knowing what they could do to remember Dazai to start with. He... wasn't exactly used to losing someone SO important to him, so how could he think of something?
Wait. An idea hits him and it takes everything in Atsushi's entire being to not break down, closing his eyes and exhaling a soft breath. ]
He... once told me something. In times like this... we can remember him from these words he once told me. [ He could do this. ] Pity yourself, and life turns into an endless nightmare.
[ Oh look he'd managed to do it. Not that it makes the pain subside in his chest any less, however. ]
In times like this... we'd do good in remembering something like that.
no subject
It's a good thing that you remembered what he said... Maybe this is why you struck me as so calm in your own way back then. Because you didn't exactly cry about how much you hated this and didn't want to die and wanted to go home, you know...?
I actually... honestly, I thought this was the worst day of my life before I got here... just because I had a big fight with my best friend. [WHO IS ON THE HOSTAGE LIST SO HIYORI'S SMILE GETS A LITTLE SHAKY AROUND THE EDGES BUT HE'S POWERING THROUGH IT...!] The perspective you learned from Dazai-san... is way better. Even in hard times, crying doesn't get anything done. We should appreciate what we have! Including each other. So... if you ever need help with anything else, want me to get you anything... Please let me know, Nakajima-kun.
OK?

If it would have been the me from a couple months ago... I probably would have done all that, but... it's different now.
[ He's definitely a patient listener, though. Expression falling a little when he heard what the other had gone through but mostly just feeling a little shocked afterward. He'd just... wanted to provide a useful thing from what Dazai had told him when he'd needed it most, and yet it's helped someone else too which makes him then feel a bit relieved and happy.
Atsushi took a moment before nodding slowly, a smile now replacing the look that had been on his face before. Edging a little towards being a bit sheepish as he rubbed at the back of his neck. ]
I-I will. Thank you, Tono-kun.
[ He seems to be much better off than he had been a few moments ago so that's a plus. Though he does look toward Dazai's unmoving form and after a second or two, he moves over and carefully makes it so Dazai's eyes are closed. Hesitating a moment and seeming to debate something since he doesn't want to leave the brunet here in the aisle.
Which is why - with a surprising show of strength - he moves to carefully pick up the taller man off the floor and moves so he can set him down in one of the middle seats as carefully as he can. Gazing down at him with rather sad, melancholy eyes. ]
...I... couldn't leave him there. We... have to win and persevere so we can get everyone else off this plane.

Then the lifting starts happening. Hiyori is really surprised Atsushi is pulling off any of this when he has that slender form in those suspenders. Is Atsushi really a refugee from a Charles Dickens novel who got swole shoveling coal? In any case, he's a man on a mission, and one that Hiyori respects. Hiyori takes several steps back, at least nimble-footed as a swimmer, so that Atsushi can lift Dazai in whatever direction he sees fit. He puts off both hands to goodnaturedly laugh off Atsushi's explanation.]
No, yeah, I completely agree with you. [The Captain might make fun of their sentimentality. Fuck him.] We can't leave this place the way it was; too creepy. [Not that Dazai is creepy. Dazai was this wise guy. The blood the Captain shed is what's creepy. Hiyori nods with determination.] We'll get off this plane and have a proper funeral when the time comes.
[He takes a few more steps away. The time is not now. Atsushi is saying they have to persevere, and it seems like there aren't clues in here, so perhaps they should pursue other avenues for victory.]

Rest well, Dazai-san. You finally got what you wanted after all this time. Sorry it wasn't a suicide like what you'd intended on...
[ Atsushi had kept his voice low, as if saying those final words just meant for him and him alone. Only looking back up when Hiyori spoke up, offering a small smile and just nodding in quiet agreement. If he had noticed Hiyori stepping back, he never said anything. ]
That sounds good to me. For now... why don't we go somewhere else?
no subject
At the present oriented suggestion, Hiyori clapped his hands together in agreement.]
Alrighty, then! Why don't we regroup with everyone in King's Class.
no subject
Sure! That works for me. Lead the way.
