(MOCK WEEK INVESTIGATION)
[The storm outside still rages on, several hours later.
Even though it is no longer night, it might as well be with the clouds, which have started to take on strange colors within their shadows. It is not comforting to know that the sun will probably not be out today. Nor is it comforting to know that the threat of death still hangs low on everyone.
Sleep was likely hard to get, for those who weren't trying to look deeper into the plane's secrets and truths, and whatever sleep was received was just not enough. Everyone is tired, cranky, angry, scared, and on edge, while the snakes continue to be an ever-present threat.
So, as 7 am comes, and people begin to move again, or at least move elsewhere, trying to be mindful of the snakes.
One of your number has already died, along with three hostages.
Will there be more to come?
There is only one way to find out.]
BREAKFAST MEETING
[Is Hiyori's voice shaky? No. This is just a turbulent plane. He's an athlete, he wakes up early for morning practice, he wants some nice protein rich eggs. French toast, perfect. Although making just one serving seems kind of wasteful. This is a plane, they have those super efficient hot drawers. So Hiyori instead of calling a meeting is trying to look subservient and responsible by wheeling this cart around to see if other people need French toast too. There's a couple different varieties of real fruit on top, too, because the King Class is so nice. Even melon, which made him think of a certain person in particular, and there's also raspberry, which reminds him of her even more, the tartness over the tininess and cuteness.]
Satanichia-sama, I know maybe good little demons go to bed with the sunrise and so on but we're on a tight schedule so I'd be truly humbled by your presence!!!

Well, it's as though everything's kind of been put into sleep mode, internally? Ren freezes, though, when he hears those words. And then he slowly turns to face Hiyori. ]
Wanting her to be alive won't bring her back.

[No, look, OK, Hiyori legitimately did not know. He doesn't even sound spacey or delusional as he replies, this is just the first he's hearing about this and it's so jarring he's still like a lagging computer.]
Did. Something happen?

... we found her body in the carte service.

[ That's all he says before looking to the floor. ]

As in... Her dead body...? Understood...
[He threads his fingers through his hair, stressed.]
We're not even safe on this floor... We gotta block out the snakes...

He is beginning to unravel, again.]
Damn it. God damn it.
A Vision.
The one holding him captive is there, but the vision won't show him this person's face. It's not only because it's blurry at the edges though - over most of the face, the figure is holding a black fan with sharp spikes sticking out at the tip of each slat. The figure shows him something purple. He won't have any idea what this object is. It's something he's never seen with his eyes before.
The figure speaks. "Your fear is normal, but there's no need. With this, you'll become one of my children. And I'll take good care of you..." The vision goes blurry for a moment. He might think he'll be returning to reality at any moment. But the next thing he knows in this vision - the spikes of that fan have plunged into his neck. Hiyori Tono is dead.
But is what he's seeing the future? It's not even on the plane. It's hard to imagine a person like this having any connection to "the captain". And that purple thing seemed alien to his world, so who knows what it could mean after getting out of here.
However, something about the stone walls covered in cobwebs, the wooden chair, the moon outside the window just as bloody as before gives him a strange sense. The sense that this might have happened an incredibly long time ago... in the past. Which is strange, since he's the same age in the vision as he is now. But as he finishes bleeding out, the figure draws the purple thing closer, and the vision ends.]
cw arguable suicidal ideation; dissociation
If he's already dead... then how is he here? Did he die, get brought back to life, and completely lose his memories of both those experiences? Strictly speaking, that scenario is entirely possible within the bounds of techniques described by the other passengers. Yet his vision felt more poetic than that...
One part of the vision was entirely clear. That Hiyori was trapped in the form this eerie parental figure sewed for him with their threads. And if his intuition is correct, that this was how he got transformed after his fight with Ikuya before he woke up on the plane with a complete dossier that only later got hijacked by the Captain, then nothing has really changed from the vision. He's going to die soon, and he's trapped. At times like this when he's looking down at his own body, he wants to go swimming. Water can't reach him for now, though... or can it?
Hiyori stares through the window of the emergency exit door, his hand braced against the wall nearby, peering through the storm clouds in hopes of glimpsing the ocean.]
