Almost instantly, the speaker system comes to life, and the Conductor's voice echoes through the cars.]

Attention, all passengers and crew! We are under attack. Please come to armaments if you are willing. Otherwise, please congregate in the lounge for your own safety. Immediately, please.

I will meet those of you coming to the weapons.

[When those who are willing come to the armaments car, the Conductor is there, activating all but that big center weapon. The rats, meanwhile, are scurrying around handling the ammo.]

[BOOM. The train shakes violently, throwing people off their feet.]

[Everyone not in the armaments are in the lounge. There're a few rats here, serving tea and booze and offering to turn the volume up on the TVs to drown out the sounds of skirmish.

They whisper among themselves, terrified.]

They never should have destroyed the library...! Never, never...!

[OoC Note: Those who choose to stay in the lounge will not get rewarded for what happens in the armaments car, but they will be safe, hopefully.]

[Rats, you say? Caleb has a cat here who is clawed deep into his thighs as he sits, but he doesn't seem to mind. Instead he's sitting and looking out the window. He'd help, but he's not much good with a crossbow and doesn't really know how to use a gun properly.]

Zack hauls ass to the armaments car, cursing under his breath as he picks a random weapon: The T weapon, to be exact. He's never really used a machine gun thingy before but if he finally gets to kill something he may as well try it.

So he aims the thing at the void thing and FIRES.]

[Towa's got this. She's got V covered. Her experience should prove useful, and she's more than willing to help out anyone else with advice if they need it. But priority is on fighting whatever is after them. She's going to give it her all, no holding back. Prepared for whatever recoil it has to offer, she focuses in on the target and strikes quick; taking every shot she can get.]

Everyone stay calm. We can do this!

[ He comes to armaments, sure.

He's not excited about firing a gun, either. But hey, it sounds like it might be difficult to kill maybe?? And it's better than staying away from the action, so here he is.

[Eliza grabs the Z weapon, frowning as she does her best to aim and shoot the mines.]

[Even now, Proto Man can't ignore the need to protect people that Doctor Light instilled in him. Also, sleep is something that he can keep putting off, so he was already wide awake and ready to go.

He'll take control of the other V gun, since it seems to operate the closest to the type of shooting he's used to.

...Proto may or may not be whistling a melancholy little tune as he comes into the armaments car and prepares to fire, by the way.]

[Ever a paragon of decision-making, Minato minds his hands and makes for the lounge--

No, no. We all know he's not even thinking about that. He can't not protect the others, after all. Guns aren't his thing, but these are bigger, mounted guns. Can't exactly mistake these for his Evoker.

So he grabs himself a T and aims. Bulletproof, nothing to lose, fire away fire away.]

[Yeah, King is a shorty that probably can't even reach the guns, sooo…

But the actually normal looking rats (to him anyway) do get his attention. He doesn't say anything, but will try to eavesdrop with his big ears as he gives Lisa some head scratches.]

[ Mithos might not know guns but it won't stop him from trying. He's a pretty fast learner after all and he wanted to do what he can to help?

So he goes in and picks up a B weapon. Alright time to ready, aim, fire... ]

Ahaha, how exciting! It's just like that movie I was stuck on an island and couldn't actually see.

[The sniper rifles are taken, so she'll grab a B machine gun, point it in the direction of the bogey, and hold down the trigger while laughing maniacally. Quantity has a quality all its own.]

[BOOM.

A glass bullet shoots out of the barrel.

And as that happens, the kickback causes the gun to slam back into Minato’s hands.

And Minato can feel the bones in his hands shatter. Glass starts start to jut out of his fingers—oh god the PAIN]

[Ris has taken up the other Z weapon.]

I will try to herd it in from this side if it strays too far!

[And she sure is setting up a wall of mines to contain it, yep.]

[RGB had never been a fan of guns, and that opinion had recently hit an all-time low for rather obvious reasons, given the rather obvious bullet hole clear through his shoulder. Between that and quite frankly not fancying his chances with anything he can't personally throw, he's just going to be in here, talking to the rats.]

Destruction of a library, you say? That sounds dreadful.

Nice! With both of us this should be much more efficient! [She even spares a moment for a thumbs-up.]

MINATO! [Eliza hears a crunch, and she turns to see the glass jutting out of his hand. She drops the mine gun immediately, running over to his side.] Your-your hand-what happened-do you have a potion? [She hasn't had the foresight to carry a cure disease one, but she does have a healing one.]

[And he screams.

It's unlikely he even sees Eliza as he drops to his knees, unable to do....anything. Instinct is to clutch an injury. He can't do that when both of his hands are this mangled. He's been hurt plenty of times, and hurt badly. But he can only remember one time anything has ever hurt this much.

But.....he has to take another shot... As soon as he can get it together and stop screaming.

Who knows, maybe they'll even hear him in the lounge.]

[Eliza's holding out the healing potion towards his mouth, uncapping it.] Minato...it's okay, I have a potion...I can help you drink it... [She's trying to stay steady despite the shaking of the train, not wanting to spill any of it.]

[Ris had been concentrating on her duty with her weapon, up until she heard Minato scream.

...Damn it. She had been so focused on the threat that she hadn't even thought to look for him in here.

Regardless, now, she's dropping everything and dashing over to Minato. When she gets there, she stops dead at what she sees.

Well... that makes a horrifying amount of sense, except it doesn't, because literally who the fuck has bones made of glass?! Whatever, she doesn't have time to think about that right now!]

Minato! Did I not tell you to be careful with weaponry?!

[...There's too much stress to be bothered with honorifics right now.]

[Eliza was shouting... And now Minato's screaming?

It's distracting Zack from the guns because WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENED TO THAT KID'S HANDS.]

[Good lord. It's like looking at Rean Schwarzer. She's grateful for his help, she really is. But she can't bear to see him like this.]

We can handle this. You need to have your injuries taken care of. Please... trust us, we won't lose so easily.

[He doesn't know if that screaming was audible to everyone else in the lounge, but King certainly knows he heard it, and that it's more than a little distressing. He comes running in, half expecting to see someone stabbed or something.

What he sees instead is not much better because what did you do to your hands Minato WHY]

[He's of course running to Minato's side, trying to assess the damage that's done.]
