For a moment...there were some thoughts, wondering about how well Eric—and the rest of them—would recover.

And that's all it was—just a moment, before it was swiped away with more entertaining thoughts of what it'd be like to make IT burn. At least reaching the brunet's house didn't take too long, and he made sure to go through the trouble of going inside to place him where he should be. ]

Get some rest. You'll need it.

[ Once he made sure Eric was settled and comfy in the blankets, he'll make an exit. ]

[There's at least one good sign before he leaves. By the time he tucks him in, the fog has lifted enough that he is able to give a coherent response, even if it is in a rather squeaky and raspy voice that's muffled by the blanket.]

[his thanks dies out in his shivers, but his experiences have suggested McBurn wouldn't accept thanks for something like this anyway. He just rolls over and curls up into as tight a ball as his body can make and tries not to think about the painful fragments of his memories that surfaced, or the sudden emptiness he feels. And especially not the beat-to-beat way being caught and carried so delicately and put to bed really make this guy he used to hate seem like a gentle savior. A saint like his mom. That guy is seriously way too nice to him... He's still married, even if that suddenly seems like such a pain. It's just deliriousness, he's sure. Even if he also feels an emptiness that could swallow him alive. When he's finally alone, he's just going to cry himself to sleep.]
