[The first sensation you feel is a headache. It's brief, slicing, sharp. It passes soon after you wake up, but it is there nevertheless, and the pain is not easily forgotten. Perhaps your eyes also blur as if roused from a deep sleep; perhaps your tongue also feels off, like you swallowed a bug. It's not pleasant.
More unpleasant, though, is the second sensation that dawns on you all-this is not your bed. This, in fact, is unrecognizable. It is not anywhere you recall coming to, willingly or otherwise. It's a room with a bunk, and there is a strange smell in the air that is hard to ignore.
No, you are no longer home. Any possessions you may have had on you are gone, save your clothing and a strange watch you can't get off, no matter how hard you try. And when you run into the hallway, well-you might find yourself running into others who might be just as confused and scared as you are as the area around you slowly sways, up and down, left and right.
What is this place? Why are you here? Who are all these other people?
What is going on?]

[She likes him. A good sort of person, the kind of person she's read about.]
I don't know. I need to learn to walk, and balance on my own. I can't keep relying on other people to help me forever. But I don't know if you'd know how to teach me that - it's the kind of thing many people take for granted isn't it?
Otherwise right now my goal is to learn about the other people trapped here, and hopefully identify common threads.

[ Something in his voice alone speaks volumes of experience on this matter, though he's more focused on what it is she says next.
Pieces put themselves together in his mind to what has to be the most logical conclusion to hearing that a young girl needed to learn how to walk and that most people took such things for granted. His heart breaks and it's reflected in the very real tears that fall down his face in this moment. ]
You poor, sweet child! Being given the chance to finally do something you never could, only thanks to those who have so heartlessly kidnapped you from your home! [ He shook his head, still quite moved by his perception of her situation. ] It will be an arduous hardship and not an easy path but I will do everything I can to help you with such a task!
[ Roland nodded vigorously, completely determined to assist this young woman with being able to walk again so she wouldn't hurt herself anymore. ]
It's a wonderful idea, as well as a smart one! We should familiarize ourselves with one another and indeed see if there's anything in common with why they have chosen each of us to be brought here.

[Without being too trusting. Good. She thinks she can probably trust him to deal with the poison well, then. But, well, as good and kind as he's made himself out to be - she didn't expect him to start crying. ...That did sound a bit pathetic, didn't it?]
Thank you, Father - is that the appropriate title? I need to work on fine motor controls, too, but walking will be a start. [Home is. A sticky subject, she has complicated feelings she doesn't know how to identify. Maybe she can ask Keith later.]
I don't think I'll have very much in common with most people here, if anything at all. But compiling data is most of what I'll be useful for, until I can move properly.

[ There's a nod of his head and he hadn't even missed a beat because years of teaching and his own personal morals has lead him to believe this fact wholeheartedly. He may not always do things properly but he goes along what he believes is the best path the Lord has set out for him. ]
You are quite welcome! Though that title is not quite correct. [ A pause, then he smiles once more. ] You can just call me Roland, since any titles I hold do not apply here.
[ For now what mattered was that she was indeed allowing him to help her with at least walking and he would be happy to do so. Granted, his perception of what must have happened to her was probably WAY off but he didn't want to ask incase it was an incredibly sensitive subject for her. ]
Walking is a great start. I can assist with that once I have put these dangerous substances away.
[ That wording in itself did make him curious, then Roland nodded a couple times in understanding. ]
Information collecting is a useful skill, and you never know what you may find out in your time doing so.
