WEEK 1


[So, once Zero has said his peace, everything is quiet as the week dawns. A new Game. Nonary, Decision, Murder. All three. It doesn't matter. Everyone is here to kill or die. The coin has been tossed, the die is cast. The rules are set; the watches are active.

The question now is, why? Why is this happening? Why you? Surely no one is so desperate to kill on this ship, right? Not when the people onboard are so interesting and varied. Perhaps everyone can get along; perhaps there's a way off the ship without bloodshed. Of course, if there is, it might be be best to be prepared for a long stay-there's no doubt Zero won't make it that easy to escape. Then there's the matter that-apparently-people have new powers they did not possess before, while those the strangers once had are gone. Perhaps it's time to test those out and see what they can do if you're not Kira.

So, let's see what happens this week. Hopefully it will be a peaceful one.

[Given that not everyone here is even apparently from Earth, the fact that he knows about Japan is in itself quite interesting. But she smiles at him for the question.]

Half Japanese, half American.

That makes two of us, minus the half American part on my side.

[Interesting indeed. He's mentally making a note of this.]

I suppose that means it's only fair that I offer to let you stab my doll if you let me stab yours.

[She looks up, then shakes her head peacefully.]

No, it's all right. I'm not trying to win. But, um.... Just once, please?

[Everyone else has been stabbing her he may as well have the chance too.]

You aren't even a little curious as to what the prize is?

[Hmm. Interesting.]

Zero didn't even tell us what it was, then told us to do this awful thing. I don't want to hurt other people just because I'm curious. But I also doubt the reward will be worth it.

[voidseeing]

[That actually earns her a light laugh.]

You're smart. Plunging blindly ahead before we even know what these "rewards" are going to be is a foolish course of action. For all we know, it may be a trap.

This entire ship is a trap. I'm not sure Zero would need to lay another one. I'm also not sure that anything they'd offer for this would be worth it, though.
