WEEK 3

WEEK 3

[The week begins as last week began. But there's is a great difference-murder. It has happened. Blood has been drawn; it cannot be undone. The Game has made itself known. The Game is paramount. The Game simply is.

As morning dawns, those who were not present with the DEAD lock will find that the doors that were locked are now gone-and a whole new area has finally opened up to them. They will also find that they remember something they had not been able to recall beforehand. The question is, was it worth it?

And-is it you, or is the ship getting...colder as the hours go by? No, it's not just you. By the end of Sunday, the ship has started to dip into freezing temperatures. It might be difficult for people to bundle up-unless you're Brain, who will find his closet inundated with winter clothing that fit him perfectly.

Yup. This is going to be a long week, as if last week wasn't bad enough.

This morning. Aoi filled me in after we had some time to calm down from the trial.

[...Yeah, he was in no emotional state to handle a productive conversation last night.]
exequte: (all I did was create and run a deathtrap)

I think we... all needed some time after that. It was awful.
superstylishsquid: (Can we not talk about it?)

[personal profile] superstylishsquid 2023-06-25 05:34 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah...I have a soft spot for kids, so that...

[Yeah.]
exequte: (I was dead cut me some slack)

[personal profile] exequte 2023-06-25 05:45 pm (UTC)(link)
And... and it wasn't right.

Maybe if it had at least been... deliberate or there had been some kind of malicious intent, but....

But there wasn't any of that. It was wrong!
superstylishsquid: (It's pathetic.)

[personal profile] superstylishsquid 2023-06-25 05:49 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah...he warned us at the beginning that accidents counted, but it's still disgusting.
exequte: (you act like that was the wrong choice)

[personal profile] exequte 2023-06-25 05:52 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm... worried now, though.

What if... what if someone fell down the stairs and... and broke their neck?

Would Zer- um... Delta.... still make us....

What if a second person wasn't even there? What would happen then?
superstylishsquid: (I don't know what to make of it.)

[personal profile] superstylishsquid 2023-06-25 05:56 pm (UTC)(link)
In that case, my guess is that the victim and culprit would be the same. Their own accident killed them.
exequte: (you act like that was the wrong choice)

[personal profile] exequte 2023-06-25 06:02 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't know. That... that would be the reasonable way to handle it, but since when has anything here seemed very reasonable?
superstylishsquid: (Oh yeah...)

[personal profile] superstylishsquid 2023-06-25 06:08 pm (UTC)(link)
The alternative would be some arbitrary person is picked. I doubt that would be a very interesting investigation.
exequte: (all I did was create and run a deathtrap)

[personal profile] exequte 2023-06-25 06:11 pm (UTC)(link)
Not necessarily. Not if they tripped on something that had been placed there by someone else, or... or someone had left some kind of residue behind and that had made them lose traction, or if they'd been talking to someone beforehand and they were distracted enough to make them trip.

Someone might easily be indirectly connected to a situation like that. And if they were, what if that meant they were to blame, according to the rules here?
superstylishsquid: (Can we not talk about it?)

[personal profile] superstylishsquid 2023-06-25 06:46 pm (UTC)(link)
...Yeah, I could see that. If there was someone else involved, instead of something like Ritsu tripping over her own feet because of zombie problems, the blame could fall to them.
exequte: (all I did was create and run a deathtrap)

[personal profile] exequte 2023-06-25 06:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes but... if that was the case, then where would the line be drawn? I don't....

It doesn't seem like we can trust things to seem... reasonable.

I get the feeling that as long as someone specific can be blamed for the cause of death, even if it was Rube Goldeberg levels of indirect, it counts.

Reasonability is not what our captor wants, my dear.

[Sorry, but he has to state the truth.]

Any excuse, no matter how small, to tie another to a death...will most likely be taken.
