WEEK 3



[The week begins as last week began. But there's is a great difference-murder. It has happened. Blood has been drawn; it cannot be undone. The Game has made itself known. The Game is paramount. The Game simply is.

As morning dawns, those who were not present with the DEAD lock will find that the doors that were locked are now gone-and a whole new area has finally opened up to them. They will also find that they remember something they had not been able to recall beforehand. The question is, was it worth it?

And-is it you, or is the ship getting...colder as the hours go by? No, it's not just you. By the end of Sunday, the ship has started to dip into freezing temperatures. It might be difficult for people to bundle up-unless you're Brain, who will find his closet inundated with winter clothing that fit him perfectly.

Yup. This is going to be a long week, as if last week wasn't bad enough.

........Two X-passes. Triplet, and Rose. Don't the rules say we can use up to five from people not present on the ship?

Mine had "Cancer" and "Royal".

All right. I think... I think we should write down all the x-passes we've received so far and put that list somewhere public. That way the entire group would be able to have access to them.

[pegasinister]

Agreed. If we don't need to use our own...

Also: Akane... I am sorry I chastised you at the trial, but now I can explain that this was why. The vision I saw not only showed another group but... all of them dying because of a wrong vote.

I don't think the rules ever implied that, did they? The passes open the door, but there wasn't anything saying that they could only be used by one person, or not anything that I can remember.

I asked Zero the first day. It was very obvious that rather than a single winner he was very obviously going to winnow out ten of us through the tragedies, give us five more additional X-passes, and thus the remaining nine would use those fifteen to escape. He repeatedly insisted that I was somehow wrong.

[And then she blanches at that second statement.]

Then... then you saw what they.... what Delta said would happen.

But that... it would only be if a majority voted wrong, right??

From the looks of it they outright guessed wrong. Voted to execute the wrong person. And if there are multiple groups... then we are disposable.

...I would rather not die. Or see you, or anyone else, killed for insolence.

[exequte]

[She looks up at him, eyes filling up with tears and then just. Steps forward to press against his chest, silently.]

[pegasinister]

[He makes an awkward sound but doesn't stop her... just looks like he has no idea where to put his hands... and settles for one on her head]

Please, do not be reckless. We will figure something out.

[exequte]

[She seems content with this choice and just stands pressed against him for a little while before finally pulling a couple steps away.]

I'm... sorry for doing that, I...

[Another pause before she looks up into his face again, eyes still wet, and then hesitantly reaches out to take his hand, if he'll let her.]

You're a good man, Hubert von Vestra. I'm glad I got to meet you, even if it had to be somewhere like this.

[He sputters and turns bright red, looking away]

I most certainly am not. But... I will attempt to take your words into consideration.

So that gives us four from people who are already dead, for a total of six...still not enough, but I tested earlier and nothing bad happens if we just guess.

Oh right, we did get one from Keith...so that's around half of what we need.

I think they do, not sure if Anya and the rest of our dead count as "not present" or not.

Probably not, considering passes are only given out after people die...unless the whole condition for freedom was a farce from the first.

Ah, yeah, this place might be the outback steakhouse of murder games.

So far, they've stuck to their stated rules...except for the Gimme getting away with killing Keith last week. The rules do say he's not supposed to kill anyone, but that might have been added in after he got carried away.

So you're saying he's like a toddler flipping the table over because he doesn't understand how checkers works.

I think it's more like he thought cutting off a thief's hand was too mild a punishment.

In his defense, some of us can just grow another one.

Not right now, I'm pretty sure. My injuries have been healing at a glacial pace.
