WEEK 3



[The week begins as last week began. But there's is a great difference-murder. It has happened. Blood has been drawn; it cannot be undone. The Game has made itself known. The Game is paramount. The Game simply is.

As morning dawns, those who were not present with the DEAD lock will find that the doors that were locked are now gone-and a whole new area has finally opened up to them. They will also find that they remember something they had not been able to recall beforehand. The question is, was it worth it?

And-is it you, or is the ship getting...colder as the hours go by? No, it's not just you. By the end of Sunday, the ship has started to dip into freezing temperatures. It might be difficult for people to bundle up-unless you're Brain, who will find his closet inundated with winter clothing that fit him perfectly.

Yup. This is going to be a long week, as if last week wasn't bad enough.

Neither am I, but if someone has enough spiritual power to start with...even a fragment is likely to be worth a lot. Especially if it's a significant enough fragment to manifest as a fully functional person, like us.

Not really. I left part of my soul behind when I abandoned a negligent master. There's enough of me here that most humans wouldn't be able to tell the difference, but I don't have access to my true form like this.

I see...Yes, I wish I could say the same, but I would be that 'piece left behind', as you so elequently put it.

Though what would your true form be?

A lot bigger, for one thing. Longer claws, hooves instead of feet, lots more fangs. My eyes are normally red, too, and my skin's a darker purple. My chest and wings are supposed to have glowing parts, and I have spikes on my elbows.

So, pretty inconvenient in the human world.

....Hm. Practically the classic image of a devil then, if not for the glowing.

I honestly wonder sometimes if I influenced that image, seeing as I'm significantly older than it.

[And to emphasize his point, he lifts up his tail to show the spaded tip.]

Oh-ho! How fascinating! Perhaps so, then!

[He seems almost delighted by the notion.]

I'd always admired that unique tail, you see. Is it unique to you, among demons?

Nah, not unique. There's actually a species of lesser demons that has them...and is probably where the association with red skin and pitchforks come from, since they're fairly infamous. No hooves, though, or wings.
