WEEK 3



[The week begins as last week began. But there's is a great difference-murder. It has happened. Blood has been drawn; it cannot be undone. The Game has made itself known. The Game is paramount. The Game simply is.

As morning dawns, those who were not present with the DEAD lock will find that the doors that were locked are now gone-and a whole new area has finally opened up to them. They will also find that they remember something they had not been able to recall beforehand. The question is, was it worth it?

And-is it you, or is the ship getting...colder as the hours go by? No, it's not just you. By the end of Sunday, the ship has started to dip into freezing temperatures. It might be difficult for people to bundle up-unless you're Brain, who will find his closet inundated with winter clothing that fit him perfectly.

Yup. This is going to be a long week, as if last week wasn't bad enough.

[ He can't help but laugh, clapping his hands happily and then holding himself up confidently. ]

That certainly sounds like a very intriguing man with a great mind, and I find it a great shame that you were tossed away. You have such a wonderful, endearing personality and it's his loss to have gotten rid of you.

[Aaand at this he just. kind of stares.

Anyway, it's gone a quick as a blink, as he suddenly looks annoyed.]

W-What?! No, that's hardly what you were supposed to take from that! Even the merest fragment of an Evil man is still dubious in of himself!!

You may be of the church, but even this sort of sunny optimism is unusual!

[ He's onto you, sir. ]

You say so, but I really don't quite see it.

[ A curious blink, then a tilt of his head to the side. Whether he's playing dumb or genuinely means this? You'll never know. ]

Is it? [ Roland chuckled a bit, shrugging his shoulders. ] I suppose I've been a bit of an outlier in the church, seeing as I shouldn't be friends with a vampire. They would not take well to this, you see.

....I would think so. I've no idea if the church in your world is as resolute as mine, but considering on the severity, you'd potentially be 'taken care of' for such a thing.

[ NEVER. ]

Well. I wouldn't be going down without a fight, that much is for certain. I believe I have a good chance of taking a lot of them down first, if it comes to that.

[ Spoken without so much as missing a beat. ]

Oh, of course. I've no doubt in my mind of that, at the very least.

[He also says it without a beat.]

Though I'm not one for sparring, I do wish I still had some of my ablities so that I could see you in action. Speaking of, do you have anyone to help you stay in shape?

[He just...pats Moriarty on the back.]

I've been having this argument with him for the past two weeks.

Including while swinging swords at him, since we have been keeping each other sharp.

I'm a demon and a supervillain, that's as far from a 'good guy' as you can get.

I haven't seen you doing anything super-villain-y, and the demon part doesn't mean you're a bad guy or anything.

[ He is probably one of the more stubborn willed people on this matter. ]

I am friends with a vampire back home and his drinking blood doesn't make him bad, either.

Kinda been focused on the whole 'trapped on a ship that wants to eat me' thing.

And only one devil has ever been considered a 'good guy' by humans that I know of. He's an incredible outlier, and considered a traitor to the entire underworld.

My point still stands, Alastor.

[ Don't try him. He hasn't seen proof of you being as evil and such as you say. ]

I think you mentioned him the last time that we spoke. Is he still around today?

[Haven't you ever heard of heroes and villains teaming up against a greater evil? Harumph.]

I don't think so. Everything I've found on him suggests he disappeared without a trace twenty years before I was freed. About the time the demon emperor recovered enough from his beatdown two thousand years ago to influence the human world.

Oh dear. Does this individual have a name or is he just.. known as a traitor who shall not be mentioned?

[ He couldn't help but be curious about all this since it was unlike his own world and therefore, very much interesting. ]

His name was Sparda. He's actually still a legend in the human world, even held a noble title according to the stories I've found.

Kinda disappointed he's gone, honestly. He was renowned for his skill with a blade, but I never got a chance to test myself against him before I was sealed.

Sounds like quite the incredible man to be known even in the human world enough to be given a title! Then to hear he was skilled with a sword?

[ A sigh. He crossed his arms over his chest, looking aptly disappointed now. ]

He seems like he would have been quite the man to face in battle. I would have liked to test my skills against him.

Exactly. He was respected throughout the underworld before his betrayal, too, but I never actually got to meet him in person. He had a reputation for courage and a level of skill and power that let him get away with upholding a sense of honor even in the cutthroat world of Inferno. Probably why he ended up turning his coat, even I thought it was distasteful that Mundus was waging war on a species that was mostly helpless.

I did meet his son, but...let's just say I can tell he was a kid when he lost his swordsmanship tutor.

It's truly rare to find people with such upstanding character, irregardless to whichever side they stand on. I can see why someone like him would have been so highly respected.

[ His heart aches, hearing about the child and frowning softly. Anything with kids just... sat different after what happened with Anya and Power. ]

Oh. That's quite unfortunate. I do hope the child turned out alright.

He's a Devil Hunter, though kind of...

[He rubs the back of his head.]

An embarrassing headache, and pretty aggressive. Pretty sure he's decent as long as he considers you essentially human, though.

[ It's nice to see Moriarty gets where he's coming from at the very least. Someone who understands enough of his strength to not doubt what he's said in that regard. ]

Ah! Yes, I do.

[ He nods without so much as a pause. ]

Alastor has been VERY helpful in that regard. He's a great fighter and I can ensure I stay in shape without holding back.

[The church in his world literally know like 50 ways to take a person apart with their bare hands, you bet your ass he's not going to doubt Roland.]

Ah, then that's all well and good.

[He means it, too. Even if he does miss his own abilities, it's nice to see the younger people enjoying themselves.]

[Moriarty, he's older than you even taking into account the time you only existed in the Throne of Heroes.]
