A vulture can't make decisions. I'm no lesser demon, I'm a greater devil, the sort that's fully capable of understanding what we do and how it affects people.

But you know what? I'm also good at understanding people in the first place. I know you want us to take you seriously as a villain. You know I feel the same way...so why keep me in the dark? Why lie, when we could have worked together to come up with something to show them?

...Unless that was just a bonus, and you had a reason it had to be the one villainous act that you knew would get you, and probably any accomplices, killed if people ever knew you were behind it?
