WEEK 4


[It is late in the afternoon when the Titled finally wake up from their long, vivid sleep. What day is it? Maybe it doesn't matter.

They weren't awake when it happened, but the final set of doors have opened. The Intercessor hasn't emerged from their room. There is no sign of the grumpy old man. And, the Titled may notice that nothing has been cleaned up - including the remains of those who prompted the Investigation - since they went into the Debate Hall. No new food has been supplied in the Kitchen, either.

The only replenishing food supply is in the Conservatex - who knows when those'll get ripped out from the ground out of spite, though. Their captors certainly showed themselves to not be above petty revenge, unfortunately.

So many questions now swirl. Is the old man hiding? Is the Intercessor ok? What the hell happened with the dragon? What about that other group which the Titled have come to realize exist? What did their captors have planned? And...really, what the hell else is going to happen now?

Whatever it is, it's not going to be good.

So get ready, Titled.

There are nine (but perhaps only eight?...) strangers in this place.]

Some Time Before Robot Fun

[Papyrus finds the ashes when he wakes up, upon going back to the Workshop.

It's sad. What happened to...to everyone. The fact it kept happening. It made him feel like his HP was dropping at everything happening around him. It's hard, but...

...even though he didn't know the girl, maybe he could still do something for her.

So, soon enough, Papyrus has the pile of ashes in his hands, small specks of white dust trailing off of spots where his arms were being burnt by the ashes, as he marches from the Workshop to Barrack Room 1.

Yeah, it hurt. But someone had to do it, right?

And...being a monster who knew what to do with ashes and dust, he's just the skeleton to do it.]

[zephyranthe]

[Fie herself appears to be coming back to the Barracks with some flowers she cut from the Conservatex. There had been a lot of deaths in the past week, and while she didn't know Babette well, she still figured she should get a flower too, for everything.

She'll run into Papyrus as she makes her own rounds, with the ashes and the dust catching her attention.]

What're you doing?

OH, FIE!

I'M DOING A FUNERAL. YOU WANNA JOIN ME?

[zephyranthe]

[Funeral sounds more elaborate than anything she was planning to do. Some sort of ceremony...?]

Sure. I've got my own stuff to drop off, anyways.

[defriendestration]

OK! I'M GOING TO ROOM 1...HAVE YOU EVER BEEN TO A MONSTER FUNERAL?

[zephyranthe]

Nope. None of the ones I knew ever held 'em. What do you do for one?

[defriendestration]

WELL, YOU GO TO THE MONSTER'S FAVORITE ITEMS AND YOU SPRINKLE THEIR DUST OVER THEM. THAT WAY THEY CAN STAY WITH THEIR STUFF FOREVER!


I DON'T KNOW MUCH ABOUT THE PERSON THIS ONCE WAS, BUT I'M GUESSING THEIR ROOM WOULD BE A GOOD PLACE TO SPRINKLE THEIR DUST, RIGHT?

That's kinda neat.

[Or at least as neat as it can be for a funeral.]

Yeah, it's the best choice we've got. Maybe we should've taken her books back, though...

WE COULD ALWAYS...UM, SPRINKLE HER BED? OR ANY OF HER OTHER STUFF! WE'LL FIGURE IT OUT, IT'S THE FIRST TIME I EVER DID THIS WITHOUT JUST WATCHING IT...

[zephyranthe]

We don't know much about her, so it's the only thing we can do.

[At least they tried?? Give them a gold star anyways.]

I think she'll appreciate it anyways.

[defriendestration]

I HOPE SO!...WE'RE HERE NOW. YOU WANT TO THROW SOME TOO?

[zephyranthe]

Oh. [She'd just expected he'd do all of it, but...]

Sure. ...And you can leave a flower for them, too. [She did bring along a couple extra... this is kind of strange, exchanging funeral traditions like this.]

[defriendestration]

THAT'S A GREAT IDEA, TOO!

SO...

[So, he starts to sprinkle ash out onto the bed.]

[zephyranthe]

[And she'll just follow his lead. It feels a little weird doing this, but it's not as awkward as she would've thought. After she's down with her ash, she'll hand over a flower to Papyrus, before laying hers down on the bed.

She doesn't know what to say though, so she stays silent.]

[defriendestration]

[Quietly, Papyrus sprinkles most of the ashes over the room. On books, stockpiles, on whatever he can find, ending on the stone pillow.

After a pause, he puts the flower Fie have him on the pillow as well.]

WE'LL MAKE SURE TO PUT THE REST OF THE ASHES WHERE YOU LIVED, WHEN WE GET OUT OF HERE! OK? THAT'S A PROMISE!

[zephyranthe]

Yeah. ...I wonder how we can find that out, though. [They all seem to come from drasically different places, after all...]

[defriendestration]

MAYBE WE CAN FIGURE IT OUT? I'M SURE WE WILL!!

[zephyranthe]

Yeah. If they brought us here somehow, there's gotta be a way back. [Probably...?]

Hopefully we can interrogate the guys who brought us here, though.

[defriendestration]

HMM, YES! THERE MUST BE A WAY TO GET THEM TO TELL US WHAT WE WANT TO KNOW!

MAYBE IF WE SPARE THEM...LIKE THE HUMAN BACK HOME SEEMS TO LIKE DOING!

[zephyranthe]

As long as they don't get to do this again, I'm okay with sparing them.

[Although they better be locked up somehow...]
