WEEK 4


[It is late in the afternoon when the Titled finally wake up from their long, vivid sleep. What day is it? Maybe it doesn't matter.

They weren't awake when it happened, but the final set of doors have opened. The Intercessor hasn't emerged from their room. There is no sign of the grumpy old man. And, the Titled may notice that nothing has been cleaned up - including the remains of those who prompted the Investigation - since they went into the Debate Hall. No new food has been supplied in the Kitchen, either.

The only replenishing food supply is in the Conservatex - who knows when those'll get ripped out from the ground out of spite, though. Their captors certainly showed themselves to not be above petty revenge, unfortunately.

So many questions now swirl. Is the old man hiding? Is the Intercessor ok? What the hell happened with the dragon? What about that other group which the Titled have come to realize exist? What did their captors have planned? And...really, what the hell else is going to happen now?

Whatever it is, it's not going to be good.

So get ready, Titled.

There are nine (but perhaps only eight?...) strangers in this place.]

Just stop acting so goddamned self-righteous and we'll call it even or... something.

[He was not using it as an excuse to be an ass! He was minding his own business before you prodded him, after all. He thinks that was a shit apology too since there was a 'but' attached but whatever, he's not actually trying to start something here so he'll change the subject.]

So, that robed guy is apparently broken or whatever. Looked all flickery when I got this old guy back.

The Darth Maul knockoff? Huh...wonder if that's connected to what went down...yesterday? I don't even know, it feels like I slept for days.

They still have Star Wars where you're from? Huh. Well... I guess so, though hell if I know why he'd depend on that dragon being alive.

[He shakes his head, still in a foul mood.]

Everything in this damn place just brings up more and more questions.

If it was easy to figure out, we'd have worked everything out and gotten home by now. Plus I know about jack shit about actual magic...all I can guess is that maybe their consciousnesses were linked or something.

I've got a bunch of coins I wasn't in much of a state to use last week, so I guess I'll be seeing what's up with him myself soon.

Linked consciousness? [Eric squints.] Is this some of that quantum mind stuff?

In my world, it'd be UMN stuff. Not quite quantum...it's kinda hard to explain, I'd have to give a full science lesson about Real Space and Imaginary Space. Just consider it a sort of telepathy.
