[Fifteen X-Passes. You've finally done it. You can now go free. However, the price has been steep. Too steep.




True, you can leave. Anyone can, now. But simply leaving may be a bad idea. After all, who knows what else Zero has up its sleeve? Who knows what's outside of the HMHS Gigantic? How will they survive? How will they eat? And those are the easy questions that need to be answered. After all, the mystery of Zero, the mystery of Zack, the mystery of who is the cause of all of this and why-those things are also seemingly impossible to answer without some preparation. There's also the new area that's opened up that may yet yield more for the survivors to mull over.


Rushing is surely a bad idea. It's time to prepare. Take the time to get ready for whatever is outside. Stock up on supplies. Write what needs to be written. Say what needs to be said. Get ready for the possibility that whatever is out there, whatever the answers are-they will not be easy, and they will not be quick.


More than that, but-where are all these cuts coming from on your body? Hm. Maybe you keep bumping into things or scratching too hard. Did everyone save Roland get super clumsy or something all of a sudden?


Well. Maybe the answers to all that are just around the corner. So. Let's get ready. The end is near.

Oh! If you mean the croissants, I still intend to teach you how to make them, don't worry!

[ Roland is positively almost giddy as he held out a piece of paper out to her. It's neatly written in his hand-writing, clear and bold. ]

This is something I wanted to do for everyone that's still left before the end of the week, even if it isn't much. Here!

[ On the paper, what she'll find is simply:

I, Roland Fortis, on my name of the Chasseur Paladin bearing the name Roland of Jasper? Bestow upon you the title Akane of Tanzanite! ]

I unfortunately do not have an actual crystal to give to you alongside this, but I figured this was the next best thing!

[She smiles at him, then reaches out and takes the paper curiously, studying the writing.]

Huh?

[godspiousjasper]

[ There's a couple seconds before his smile returns as if it'd never left, though he soon holds up the cross at the end of his rosary, where a glittering green gem is shown to be embedded in it's center. ]

Ah! Right! Apologies for the confusion. This here..? It's green Jasper.

[ Which was only part of it, so of course he's going to clear things up for her appropriately. ]

Back home I am a Chasseur Paladin that hunts vampires, and each of us bearing the Paladin role get assigned a gemstone as part of our titles.

Roland! This is lovely!!

[Akane appears to experience several emotions in very quick succession, but settles down into joy.]

I love Tanzanite... why did you pick it though?

In the sense that you hold within you a fiery strength of will that all of us paladins share? You're fit enough to be one as far as I'm concerned.

[ Roland lights up as she seemed happy about it at the least, holding himself quite proudly. ]

I chose it because of the crystal's meaning. Tanzanite gems represent heart and intellect combined with intuition and purity, which I believe suited you quite well!

[exequte]

I love it!

[She basically throws herself at him, her arms around his neck and kissing him on the cheek before, about a quarter second after having done so, remembering that he'd been hurt recently and dropping back down.]

Sorry! Sorry. Did I hurt you??

[ He can't help but laugh out of sheer happiness once she'd moved to kiss him on the cheek like that, easily shaking his head once the apology followed. ]

There's no need to apologize. I'm fine, I promise!

[ It'd helped that she'd actually kissed his non-injured cheek, too. Which, is actually looking a lot better than it had on Sunday. ]

Your kind heart truly knows no bounds, Akane. I hope that's something you never lose.

I'm glad! I hope you never lose your kind heart either. There's never enough people like you.

[ He almost looks bashful at her words, clearly still in good spirits. ]

Once I get the rest of these titles delivered to the others, we could go and make those croissants today if you'd like?

If your wounds are healed enough I'd love to! But.... are you sure you're feeling all right for that?

Absolutely!

[ What once had been a nasty, swollen bruise on his face was definitely no longer swollen up and was just a bit of an ugly color now. Leagues better than what it once had been at the afterparty and he was no longer at all limping or anything of the sort. ]

I'm actually feeling in a wonderful mood and better than I have felt in days.

[ Maybe thanks in part to that he's not suffering from the cuts everyone else was, but y'know. Not thinking about that. ]
