FINAL INVESTIGATION
[Fifteen X-Passes. Six weeks. Freedom at last.
But it's not the end. Of course it's not. There are questions to answer, and souls to save. And now that the group is outside, they can see where they are.
They are inside a massive cavern, illuminated in an eerie green light, standing on a stone path. On one side is the ship-or rather, a massive, ship-shaped tangle of bloody branches, the trunk-like roots snaking out and into the river its buoyed on, as well as into the ceiling of stalactites. Said river is wine dark, but it's clearly not water. No-it is blood.
And on the other side of their little pathway? A root-encrusted palace. It sits over a labyrinthine city, bathed in emerald, and all is eerily silent save for some sounds coming from within the castle. It's clear the infestation somehow started here. And it is here that answers are likely to be found.
The doors are right in front of the group-and they are already open, covered in branches. From the outside, it seems little more than a ruin. Once everyone goes in, though?
It's even worse. The tree has taken over. Whatever lives here is no longer in charge. There's no easy way to disentangle the Qilphoth from this place. But there is life here, somehow. You can see figures entangled within the roots as you explore. And-they are still, somehow, alive. More than alive. They are beings that bleed ichor instead of blood-beings of incredible divinity and power. They are gods. And they are hostage to the tree, forever and ever, trapped in induced ennui, unless something is done.

[Once you enter, the investigation shall begin.
Good luck.]

Then how him and Alastor had pulled Zack/Zag from the bloody pool.. Hm. It'd be the obvious one, wouldn't it? ]
You may not like the idea, but I do believe you could be a God of Blood? If not that, perhaps of Rebirth?
[ The last one only suggested due to how hard it'd been to apparently kill the other man before... and even now he was still here and not one of those ghostly spirits that the other souls were. ]

[ROLAND...he's definitely smarter than he acts, hm?]

I may be wrong but those seemed like the most likely options given everything we've seen and experienced.

[And this is him not knowing shit about Zag and Thanatos's relationship, lmao.]
And perhaps of rebirth, as blood also has those associations. Yes, it seems quite...perfect, doesn't it?

Very much so.
[ A hum follows that as Moriarty didn't know about the things that transpired on the ship after... well. His death. So maybe some extra elaboration wouldn't hurt. ]
Especially given that it's incredibly hard to kill him. He was said to have gotten back up after a shot to the head, survived a poisoning and only died when someone strangled him to death... yet here he is now. Alive and well.

[THAT'S. Wow. Only Cu has that kind of Battle Continuation, tbh.]
Rather incredible to hear, though I suppose now it makes quite a bit of sense.

Mm-hm!
[ Considering the peculiar number of things that's happened with Zack so far since he'd woken up there with them? Everything's definitely clicking. ]
It does. Between his unusual strength, not knowing much of anything that most people would and such? I'd guess that the only things changed about him were added memories and a change to his appearance.
