WAKE UP TIME

WAKE UP TIME

[The first thing you feel when you wake up is...nothing.

You don't feel much different at all when you wake up, no doubt from a very pleasant sleep, even if you may not remember what you dreamed of. If anything, you would have thought it was another normal day.

That thought would have vanished the moment you took in your surroundings. This is not your bed, this is definitely not your bedroom, and well, this is definitely not your home. In fact, this place isn't anywhere you've been before.

Before you can question anything much further, your cell phone starts beeping, flashing a message on the screen for a good several minutes, before flashing your profile, also for a few minutes. Yes, now you have a Title, and a power, even if you've never had one before. And yes, you have a cell phone. Even if you didn't have one, and don't know what the hell a cell phone is. You get the feeling you'll need to keep it on you.

The profile fades back to the home page of your phone - don't worry, you can still access your profile, and everyone else's, on that little lime icon if you really want - even though you have so many questions now. (The help button may... attempt to be helpful in that case.) Where the hell are you? Why do you have a Title? And can you get out?

Perhaps, if you're strong enough. But, in any case.

Welcome, Titled.

There are fifteen strangers in this place.]

((OOC: Welcome!

If you haven't filled out the resident profile or current residents information yet, please do so!))

Oh, good, a detective. [Britt is also kind of working on trying to find a way out, but he's not a detective. Do you know what you're doing, Akechi?]

Of course we weren't chosen for no reason. So what did you do to get on someone's bad side? Besides being a detective.

[Detectives and the such get on the hitlist of mafiosos and criminals all the time, don't they?]
foolishjustice: (This is my justice-!)

[personal profile] foolishjustice 2017-11-26 05:58 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't have any other enemies that I know of. Well, I've heard rumors that some members of the police force envy my success, but I can't imagine they would stoop this low.

Of course, it is possible that I have made such a twisted enemy and simply don't remember. Have you noticed any gaps in your memory?
thegreenhornet: (The Green Hornet)

[personal profile] thegreenhornet 2017-11-26 06:10 pm (UTC)(link)
Gaps in my--no, nothing like that. I think.

[He thinks to last night. Yeah, he got rather drunk, so it wouldn't be strange to have bad memory because of that, right?]

I dunno. I was just hanging out with a pal last night, it's not like anything weird happened.
foolishjustice: (Strange isn't it?)

[personal profile] foolishjustice 2017-11-26 06:18 pm (UTC)(link)
Hmm...an inconsistency? Or perhaps they were more subtle in your case...is there anything in your profile that seems obviously incorrect?
thegreenhornet: (The Green Hornet)

[personal profile] thegreenhornet 2017-11-26 06:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Well--yeah, there's something incorrect! [Britt takes out his cellphone and shows it, his profile on display] I think it's obvious what's the wrong here!

[The vigilante part, he means. Yeah, he's trying to make others believe that's a weird error instead of the truth]
foolishjustice: (Strange isn't it?)

[personal profile] foolishjustice 2017-11-26 06:33 pm (UTC)(link)
[Look. His says 'Phantom Thief', what do you expect him to judge?]

You don't recall making a habit of taking personal action against criminals, I assume?
thegreenhornet: (You're such a dick)

[personal profile] thegreenhornet 2017-11-26 06:50 pm (UTC)(link)
[He hasn't even read any of the other profiles yet, hah]

Exactly! I'm just some normal guy, not some kind of vigilante. [He extends his arms to the sides] Look at me, do I look like the crimefighting type to you?
foolishjustice: (Strange isn't it?)

[personal profile] foolishjustice 2017-11-27 03:58 am (UTC)(link)
If you want my honest opinion, you don't look too different from some police officers I know. Of course, appearances aren't everything. And you wouldn't be the only one with such a glaring mistake in your profile, either.
thegreenhornet: (You're such a dick)

[personal profile] thegreenhornet 2017-11-27 04:36 am (UTC)(link)
You got something wrong in yours too?

[He supposes it isn't too bad to not look different from a common officer. Good enough]
foolishjustice: (This is my justice-!)

[personal profile] foolishjustice 2017-11-27 04:45 am (UTC)(link)
Yes.

[He pulls his phone out of a pocket and opens the profiles to look at his own again.]

Whoever wrote these seems to be under the impression that I'm a member of the group I've been pursuing an investigation into.
thegreenhornet: (Nice but what about me?)

[personal profile] thegreenhornet 2017-11-27 04:51 am (UTC)(link)
[Britt grins, taking that as a victory of some type]

See? Whoever caught us got some stuff wrong. They must have gotten their info wrong and thought you were part of them instead of you investigating them.

[Therefore Britt's totally not a vigilante because of vague logic. Success!]

And that's good, right? Because it means the kidnapper makes mistakes. There must be other mistakes somewhere too.

foolishjustice: (May I help you?)

[personal profile] foolishjustice 2017-11-27 04:54 am (UTC)(link)
Their misinformation is to our advantage, yes. It means they may very well underestimate us.

[Although there's one thing on there...that's uncomfortably accurate. Nobody should know that detail about him.]

However...is there anything accurate that you find it surprising they're aware of?
thegreenhornet: (Nice but what about me?)

[personal profile] thegreenhornet 2017-11-27 01:47 pm (UTC)(link)
I guess they shouldn't know I hate my dad, but it's not like I wouldn't tell anyone who asked. That guy was a dick.
foolishjustice: (Shall I explain?)

[personal profile] foolishjustice 2017-11-27 05:17 pm (UTC)(link)
[There's a small twitch of his lips at that. Something sympathetic in his eyes. So, he's not the only one here who would describe their father unflatteringly...it's almost comforting to know.]

While I understand the sentiment of wanting to describe a no-good father appropriately, my detail is...a little bit more private. It's not something I've shared with anyone, nor that I imagine I would care to speak about without reason.
