WAKE UP TIME
[The first thing you feel when you wake up is...nothing.
You don't feel much different at all when you wake up, no doubt from a very pleasant sleep, even if you may not remember what you dreamed of. If anything, you would have thought it was another normal day.
That thought would have vanished the moment you took in your surroundings. This is not your bed, this is definitely not your bedroom, and well, this is definitely not your home. In fact, this place isn't anywhere you've been before.
Before you can question anything much further, your cell phone starts beeping, flashing a message on the screen for a good several minutes, before flashing your profile, also for a few minutes. Yes, now you have a Title, and a power, even if you've never had one before. And yes, you have a cell phone. Even if you didn't have one, and don't know what the hell a cell phone is. You get the feeling you'll need to keep it on you.
The profile fades back to the home page of your phone - don't worry, you can still access your profile, and everyone else's, on that little lime icon if you really want - even though you have so many questions now. (The help button may... attempt to be helpful in that case.) Where the hell are you? Why do you have a Title? And can you get out?
Perhaps, if you're strong enough. But, in any case.
Welcome, Titled.
There are fifteen strangers in this place.]
((OOC: Welcome!
If you haven't filled out the resident profile or current residents information yet, please do so!))

[ YOU'RE A CHILD. ]

[She looks at her phone again to make sure she's reading the numbers right.]
Who wrote this, anyway?
no subject
[ She's not suspecting you, or anything, but it really? Does? ]
no subject
Also, I've never sent a chat message on a cell phone. I didn't even know you could do that.
no subject
[ She gives a small laugh. ]
I doubt it was you. You'd probably talk like you typed. But yes, you can do that. Granted, technology isn't my strong suit, I'm used to sending messages with a crystal ball through Luna Nova's magical network... that would be Professor Croix's area of expertise.
no subject
[Time for Joey's new favorite game: am I crazy or is the person I'm talking to crazy?]
no subject
Yes, I teach at Luna Nova Academy. I'm guessing you're not from a witching family if you've never heard of it.
no subject
Are you going to tell me you're a witch next?
no subject
[ Blinking. ]
Granted, they've taken my wand, so I... can't do any magic, but...
no subject
Well, except my babysitter, but she's more just a fan of the idea of wizards, you know?

[ As if on cue, she summons a little bit of that barbed wire from her power in the shape of a small star. A little amount of it, just... in the air. Then it dissipates after a few seconds. How adept she easily handles it and makes it move around into the shapes she wants shows a practiced hand. ]
Whatever this is supposed to be. I could do that with my eyes closed with my wand, and could do the same to simply get us out of here using magic, but... well, I suppose they realized that.
no subject
I'm just...gonna take your word for it. Like, you're not going to doubt me if I say I came here after getting chased into a weird snake portal by big eyeless monsters, right?
[Right?]
I mean, even for Scully, there comes a time where she just has to accept that supernatural stuff is going on or it'll get her killed.
no subject
[ SHE'S TRYING, okay. ]

[ She thinks about it for a moment. ]
I don't teach the magical fauna class at school... but I do know a little bit. If they responded to light, chances are they're probably darkness or cave-dwelling creatures.
no subject
[She shakes her head.]
It probably doesn't matter too much, though. My goal was getting away from them, and I guess I sure did that...
no subject
[ She frowns. ]
If the big one was snake-like, it could have potentially been a basilisk. Even a small one can be quite dangerous!
no subject
[She looks at her shoes. She has no idea what's going on with Jude and no way to affect it either way. It's better to just hope for the best than assume the worst.]
I think I like the name 'basilisks' better than 'serpents', though. That's what Jude was going with and he said it so much it stopped sounding like a word.
no subject
[ Large magical snakes in general are dangerous. ]
I've never encountered one personally, the closest I ever dealt with was a cockatrice. I do hope your brother will be all right. We have to get you back home and out of here so you can make sure. Perhaps someone could go home with you and take care of the problem you were having, maybe myself?

[She considers for a moment, and holds out a hand.]
I feel like we should introduce ourselves and not just rely on the creepy mini-cell phone thing. I'm Joey.
no subject
[ Her handshake is... a little stumbling, to be honest, but she manages. Noticeably, she uses her left hand, but the grip is... oddly weak. Weaker than if someone was relaxed. ]
It's nice to meet you, Joey. My name is Ursula. Ursula Callistis. I would normally ask someone your age to call me "Professor", but considering I'm not at my school and that seems somewhat annoying anyway, please, just call me Ursula.
no subject
It's a pleasure, Ursula. I promise if I ever end up at witch school or whatever, I'll stick to calling you Professor then.

We've had more students from non-magical backgrounds recently, to be certain. It wouldn't be impossible! Variety is definitely a good thing. One of my most spirited pupils is a girl from a non-witching background about your age.
