WAKE UP TIME

WAKE UP TIME

[The first thing you feel when you wake up is...nothing.

You don't feel much different at all when you wake up, no doubt from a very pleasant sleep, even if you may not remember what you dreamed of. If anything, you would have thought it was another normal day.

That thought would have vanished the moment you took in your surroundings. This is not your bed, this is definitely not your bedroom, and well, this is definitely not your home. In fact, this place isn't anywhere you've been before.

Before you can question anything much further, your cell phone starts beeping, flashing a message on the screen for a good several minutes, before flashing your profile, also for a few minutes. Yes, now you have a Title, and a power, even if you've never had one before. And yes, you have a cell phone. Even if you didn't have one, and don't know what the hell a cell phone is. You get the feeling you'll need to keep it on you.

The profile fades back to the home page of your phone - don't worry, you can still access your profile, and everyone else's, on that little lime icon if you really want - even though you have so many questions now. (The help button may... attempt to be helpful in that case.) Where the hell are you? Why do you have a Title? And can you get out?

Perhaps, if you're strong enough. But, in any case.

Welcome, Titled.

There are fifteen strangers in this place.]

((OOC: Welcome!

...

[ Tomatoes couldn't match her face hues right now. ... They need... a better subject. ]

T-the one you're looking for... is it a person, then? This Wake... God person? I think I saw his name on my... um, gosh what was it called, a cellphone, I think? ... S-sorry, I'm used to using crystal balls for online communication...

[ Oh! Her expression changes pretty instantly, a smile lighting up her face. ]

Yes, Wake is God's Gift. He's very special, he can make Star Children with all of the S-Rank female disciples, including me.

[ They were doing well for like, a second. ]

[ Pinching... the bridge of her nose... Nine Olde Witches help her. ]

... I... I see. Maybe... w-we could refrain from discussing that?

[ Please... she begs you. ]

I certainly hope he's not going to be doing that here. Anyway, it would seem our normal... uh... powers are blocked as it is, so I doubt he could...

OK. [ She can do that, sure. She just really likes Wake a lot, and he's really fantastic in so many ways. But the mention of powers does distract her, thanks the Stars. ]

Is it like a Dusk Circle? [ Hmmm..... yeah she can't seem to get her star energy to focus like she normally can. ] Ah, this isn't good. Wake might be able to help, but I don't think I could fight like this.

I'm... afraid I'm not familiar with any dusk-related anything, really. Magic-sealing things I'm certainly familiar with, but...

[ She chews her bottom lip for a moment. ]

The only permanently magic altering substance I can think of is the Wagandea's Pollen, but that's... no, I'm doubtful, because we still have other magic. A witch afflicted by Wagandea's Pollen can, at worst, never use magic ever again. But whatever powers they've supposedly given us still work, so it can't be that. There must be some spell here sealing it, or this place is probably off a Ley Line... I don't know.

Without my wand, I... I'm afraid I can't tell.

I'm sorry, I've never heard of any of those things. Is your wand your duskbreaker? Mine is called beehive, but I can't use it except in a labyrinth.

[ This information may be somewhat classified but this is fine, really. What could go wrong with trusting strangers. ]

[personal profile] theirmagic 2017-11-27 12:45 pm (UTC)(link)
The what? No, it's just an ordinary wand, for casting magic, the same thing all witches must use to cast magic. ... Perhaps there's a bit of a miscommunication...

[ A hand to her cheek, thoughtfully. ]

Mmn, that sounds like what Ellie uses to harness her star energy. Mine is a gun [ A goddamn machine gun. ] ,but hers is a really large staff. Was that more clear? If I'm not doing a very good job of explaining things, I'm sorry.

Ahh... I'm afraid the most I know about "star energy" would be in relation to magical astrology, the class I teach. You can use magic to divine the future through reading the stars... that's what I do.

[personal profile] pinnately 2017-11-28 06:30 am (UTC)(link)
You can read the future? Is it in a book or do the words just appear across the sky? You must be really strong if you can.
theirmagic: (56)

[personal profile] theirmagic 2017-11-29 02:19 am (UTC)(link)
No, actually. None of those things, although how to learn to do it does require some study. I use the astrology, the study of the stars, to predict the future. It's a fairly basic skill, but it's difficult to master.

Does it interest you?

[personal profile] pinnately 2017-11-29 11:08 pm (UTC)(link)
Mmhmm. Stars are really important, and so is the Star God.

[personal profile] theirmagic 2017-11-29 11:48 pm (UTC)(link)
I see. That's very admirable, then! We DO have a bit of a view of the stars here, I could teach you a bit of astrology if you'd like. I'm not sure how well I'd be able to read the stars in this place, but I could certainly at least give you the fundamentals.

[personal profile] pinnately 2017-11-30 12:11 am (UTC)(link)
Yes, I'd like that a lot!

[ She is genuinely really ecstatic about this. ]
theirmagic: (W-wahahaha...)

[personal profile] theirmagic 2017-11-30 10:42 am (UTC)(link)
Well then... how about this. We could meet once a day at night in the foodcourt and see if we can't get a good view of the stars above us after dark. Sometime early enough in the evening to not be intrusive, but perhaps late enough to hopefully see the stars?

Even if we can't, there's plenty I can teach you.
pinnately: (#6)

[personal profile] pinnately 2017-12-01 03:43 am (UTC)(link)
OK, I'll be waiting for you every night.

[ ... she will be, so if you have other plans one night you should probably let her know because she will stand there and possibly fall asleep otherwise. ]
theirmagic: (22)

[personal profile] theirmagic 2017-12-01 03:49 am (UTC)(link)
[ ... She'll probably tell her about patrolling when that comes up, but she can teach Torri and then do her rounds, she supposes. ]

I was actually planning on teaching Mister Kurusu, as well; do you perhaps mind having some company?
pinnately: (#10)

[personal profile] pinnately 2017-12-01 05:08 am (UTC)(link)
[ That works! ]

I don't mind. I won't have to sit at a desk, will I?
theirmagic: (36)

[personal profile] theirmagic 2017-12-01 10:51 am (UTC)(link)
Hahaha! A good question. No, we'll probably be standing most of the time or using the food court tables, I intend to draw up some star charts for the both of you. I know them by heart, after all.

Looking at food while I learn sounds really fun!

[ Might not be the best idea she will get distracted, but they'll figure this out as they go. ]
