WAKE UP TIME
[The first thing you feel when you wake up is...nothing.
You don't feel much different at all when you wake up, no doubt from a very pleasant sleep, even if you may not remember what you dreamed of. If anything, you would have thought it was another normal day.
That thought would have vanished the moment you took in your surroundings. This is not your bed, this is definitely not your bedroom, and well, this is definitely not your home. In fact, this place isn't anywhere you've been before.
Before you can question anything much further, your cell phone starts beeping, flashing a message on the screen for a good several minutes, before flashing your profile, also for a few minutes. Yes, now you have a Title, and a power, even if you've never had one before. And yes, you have a cell phone. Even if you didn't have one, and don't know what the hell a cell phone is. You get the feeling you'll need to keep it on you.
The profile fades back to the home page of your phone - don't worry, you can still access your profile, and everyone else's, on that little lime icon if you really want - even though you have so many questions now. (The help button may... attempt to be helpful in that case.) Where the hell are you? Why do you have a Title? And can you get out?
Perhaps, if you're strong enough. But, in any case.
Welcome, Titled.
There are fifteen strangers in this place.]
((OOC: Welcome!
If you haven't filled out the resident profile or current residents information yet, please do so!))

He glances over at the cats, then scratches one's ear.
Nothing happens. No desperate attempt by the cat to keep its ears un-scratched, no leveling him like a truck, nothing.
Then he boops the cat's nose.
It meows, but otherwise does nothing. ]
By "nothing special", do you mean... like these guys? Eat, sleep, take a shit, claw at stuff?
[ These cats are super cute, but he's starting to suspect something here. ]

I... I see. That... definitely sounds like familiar only territory, or the territory of more magical beasts, such as things like a cockatrice or perhaps a manticore... normal, non-magical animals such as the cats like this can't... generally do things like that.
... Is it... normal for you, for that sort of thing to happen a lot?

[ he hopes he kind of got his point across the first time. ]
If they didn't, they wouldn't have lasted a second.

Where does he even start?
There's different types. [ The way he says it implies it's something like elemental bullshit, he'll get to that in a second. ] My favorites are the Steel types, they're... basically made of metal, like you'd expect. All Pokemon have some sort of power that most humans don't really even begin to have, so pretty much everyone lives with at least one by their side.
[ So. Kind of like a familiar. ]

What are these "Steel" types like? They sound very strong.
no subject
They could be. Most of 'em are made of metal, like the name says; my dad had a Steelix big enough that we could never let it into the house.
[ Not unless they wanted to install a new roof. ]
Most of them have this image that they ought to be able to crush boulders, but me? I always liked the ones with a little more style.
[ Like Skarmory. Or a fuckin' GHOST SWORD, even if he could never catch one. ]
no subject
[ Scary. ]
What counts as stylish for you?

...I like things that are nice and raw, a little rough around the edges, but just enough polish to really sparkle. Not too modern, because then it's just kind of boring, but...
[ He's always been a bit of a fan of combining styles. ]
