WAKE UP TIME

[The first thing you feel when you wake up is...nothing.

You don't feel much different at all when you wake up, no doubt from a very pleasant sleep, even if you may not remember what you dreamed of. If anything, you would have thought it was another normal day.

That thought would have vanished the moment you took in your surroundings. This is not your bed, this is definitely not your bedroom, and well, this is definitely not your home. In fact, this place isn't anywhere you've been before.

Before you can question anything much further, your cell phone starts beeping, flashing a message on the screen for a good several minutes, before flashing your profile, also for a few minutes. Yes, now you have a Title, and a power, even if you've never had one before. And yes, you have a cell phone. Even if you didn't have one, and don't know what the hell a cell phone is. You get the feeling you'll need to keep it on you.

The profile fades back to the home page of your phone - don't worry, you can still access your profile, and everyone else's, on that little lime icon if you really want - even though you have so many questions now. (The help button may... attempt to be helpful in that case.) Where the hell are you? Why do you have a Title? And can you get out?

Ambition is necessary to pursue the path of a detective at my age.

[He gives a smile, but it quickly fades. Gaps in his memory...haha yeah.]

There's actually a very obvious gap in my memory, if I think about yesterday at all. I recall being in the courtroom, then there's a blank in which something must have happened, because I arrived home unusually late and upset by something I can't recall.

[Kurama's lips thin just a bit, expression turning grim for a moment before it lightens towards 'serious but still personable'.]

Yes. I have at least one, perhaps two, very recent gaps in memory, and I've been finding others as I search further back. It's more than slightly disconcerting.

[He takes his phone out of his pocket to check his profile again. It still says 'Phantom Thief', and he still doesn't understand why.]

It's...even possible, concerning as the thought may be, that we're missing larger chunks of memory that we haven't recognized due to their thoroughness. It may help explain certain...inconsistencies with the profiles.

I agree... The reason I say perhaps two recent gaps is the fact that while the clothes I woke up in here are mine, they are not the clothes I last recall wearing. And there are inconsistencies in my profile as well.

[He hasn't seen Yomi in a good thousand years, and he certainly doesn't resent Yomi's rise to power in such a way that it should earn him a spot on the 'dislikes' list.]

Mine as well. Many details are accurate, disturbingly so, but not all of them. I can't imagine how the incorrect detail could come to be true, but I also see little reason to put forth a false claim about it.

[It's not like being implicated as a Phantom Thief would be at the top of his concerns here, even if it were true.]

Yes. One of the people listed as a dislike is someone I haven't spoken to in a very long time, but I don't bear him any particular ill will. Some of these inaccuracies, I imagine, are moot points while we are trapped here in any case.

....And I agree that their accuracy in certain details is disturbing. One wonders how they came by the information.

Some of it could be explained by something as mundane as lengthy and thorough observation. I've made no secret of my friendship with Kurusu-kun, nor of my dislike of overly zealous fans. My political opinions, however, I haven't spoken of to anyone...to my recollection, at least.

Someone besides myself does know of my issues with a certain person, but they would never speak of it to another. My concern, when this is combined with the memory loss, is that it's all indicative that our captors may have intruded into our minds.

[He can't say the thought hasn't crossed his mind, but he hasn't wanted to believe it. He'd hoped the memory loss was from something mundane, like some sort of rare drug, but...increasingly, it seems to make sense.]

It...would explain both. In which case, they would know us incredibly well...both our motivations and our weaknesses. Given the situation, it's a truly frightening thought.

It is, but that's all the more reason to think it as soon as possible. We can't guard against the possibilities inherent if we don't.

Mm. I've no doubt they'll begin putting further pressure on us at some point. The question is merely when, and whether or not anyone will kill out of pure urgency to return home before our captors resort to such measures...

Assuredly. It won't be good, given what they seem to know about all of us, but at least there's the possibility our captors will contact us directly to offer that pressure.

Where simple urgency to return home is concerned, I would think it falls on those of us who retain a cool head to keep everyone as calm as possible.

It may also be prudent to make a clear display of searching for an alternate means of escape. Even if such obvious attempts are doomed to failure, appearances are important. It would be reassuring to see that someone believes it's possible to bypass that rule.

But not incorrect. Hope and confidence will be invaluable for keeping some kind of order as events progress.
