WAKE UP TIME

WAKE UP TIME

[The first thing you feel when you wake up is...nothing.

You don't feel much different at all when you wake up, no doubt from a very pleasant sleep, even if you may not remember what you dreamed of. If anything, you would have thought it was another normal day.

That thought would have vanished the moment you took in your surroundings. This is not your bed, this is definitely not your bedroom, and well, this is definitely not your home. In fact, this place isn't anywhere you've been before.

Before you can question anything much further, your cell phone starts beeping, flashing a message on the screen for a good several minutes, before flashing your profile, also for a few minutes. Yes, now you have a Title, and a power, even if you've never had one before. And yes, you have a cell phone. Even if you didn't have one, and don't know what the hell a cell phone is. You get the feeling you'll need to keep it on you.

The profile fades back to the home page of your phone - don't worry, you can still access your profile, and everyone else's, on that little lime icon if you really want - even though you have so many questions now. (The help button may... attempt to be helpful in that case.) Where the hell are you? Why do you have a Title? And can you get out?

Perhaps, if you're strong enough. But, in any case.

Welcome, Titled.

There are fifteen strangers in this place.]

((OOC: Welcome!

If you haven't filled out the resident profile or current residents information yet, please do so!))
theirmagic: (PLEASE I DON'T WANT TROUBLE.)

Well... no. But I'm sure we could get something from one of the stores! There's a kitchen...

[ Right??? ]
foolishjustice: (I hadn't even considered it!)

[personal profile] foolishjustice 2017-11-28 03:46 am (UTC)(link)
Please keep in mind that we're yet unsure if this will even work properly, let alone the limits of what constitutes a minor injury. It wouldn't be wise to risk anything that would seriously inconvenience you, or put you at risk of an infected injury.
theirmagic: (35)

[personal profile] theirmagic 2017-11-28 03:50 am (UTC)(link)
There's a pharmacy, I believe? I think that should solve the problem of any cuts becoming infected. Please, I'm not that incapable. It isn't as though I'm going to make a huge cut or anything. A small one should be plenty.

[ So you know. ... Although, honestly, she also just cares that little... ]
foolishjustice: (So I see...)

[personal profile] foolishjustice 2017-11-28 03:56 am (UTC)(link)
I recall passing through a 'novelty weapons' section. If they're genuine and sharpened, there ought to be something there a bit better suited for precision than kitchen equipment. A serrated blade would cause more damage than a smooth one, regardless of how well it's made.
theirmagic: (68)

[personal profile] theirmagic 2017-11-28 05:44 am (UTC)(link)
Ah... I saw that, I think. I was concerned you might get hurt, though.

[ More like, "concerned someone might notice I can handle weapons way too well". ]
foolishjustice: (It's a pleasure to meet you.)

[personal profile] foolishjustice 2017-11-28 05:51 am (UTC)(link)
You shouldn't concern yourself too much. I enjoy playing darts, so I'm accustomed to handling sharp objects.

[And he will stick to the pointed ones, because he doesn't want to come up with an excuse for why he can handle a sword.]
theirmagic: (114)

[personal profile] theirmagic 2017-11-28 07:06 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, I see. Yes, I'm used to handling similar magical tools. It's standard training, in case of emergencies.

[ THIS IS A LIE. A BIG FAT LIE. It shows a little in the wobble on her smile. She is a bad, bad, BAD liar. ]

Then, do you mind if we go there?
foolishjustice: (May I help you?)

[personal profile] foolishjustice 2017-11-28 07:09 am (UTC)(link)
[Oh Ursula. Someone needs to tell you that the best lies have a grain of truth...he really does play darts.]

I wouldn't have suggested it if I minded.
theirmagic: (123)

[personal profile] theirmagic 2017-11-28 07:21 am (UTC)(link)
All right then. ... Hopefully you can carry that?

[ Thoughtful glance to that thing you conjured, friend. ]
foolishjustice: (It's a pleasure to meet you.)

[personal profile] foolishjustice 2017-11-29 06:37 am (UTC)(link)
I think I'm dexterous enough to carry a full cup of coffee, handedness aside.

[Because dexterous and sinister, get it? Yeah...]
theirmagic: (132)

[personal profile] theirmagic 2017-11-29 05:01 pm (UTC)(link)
Well then...

[ Nothing to it but to do it. She still won't walk very fast, though. When they get there, she finds herself frowning. ]

H-honestly, this is a bit much... why would they put something like this here...
foolishjustice: (So I see...)

[personal profile] foolishjustice 2017-11-29 07:29 pm (UTC)(link)
[He's at least right about being able to manage it. And once they're at their destination, he can set the cup down on a shelf.]

I think their reasoning should be obvious, given their...expectations.
theirmagic: (I'll just be over here... if you need me)

[personal profile] theirmagic 2017-11-29 10:55 pm (UTC)(link)
[ She sighs, picking up a dagger. ]

... I do hope we'll only have to visit this place for self-defense. Or if the knives in our kitchen aren't sharp enough.

[ All the same, she very deftly and unceremoniously gets the nasty bit out of the way: a swift cut across her left hand. The one she obviously isn't using to hold said weapon. ]

Well, there it is. All that remains now is to try it out, right?
foolishjustice: (Strange isn't it?)

Hopefully they didn't spend twenty minutes arguing and looking for a knife...

[personal profile] foolishjustice 2017-11-29 10:58 pm (UTC)(link)
[He's not too pleased to see such a nice woman injured, but...if this works, it won't last for long. He nods and picks the cup back up to offer to her.]

It should have cooled off somewhat during the walk, so my apologies if you dislike tepid coffee.
theirmagic: (124)

Honestly if they did we're saving readers the trouble of reading it--

[personal profile] theirmagic 2017-11-29 11:09 pm (UTC)(link)
[ If she's in pain, she really isn't showing it too badly. Just a small wince. ]

I don't mind in the slightest, detective. This is for a good cause. After all, if it turns out to be true, we may be able to help someone if they get injured.

[ ... Nothing left but to drink the coffee, right? She'll do that, then! ]
foolishjustice: (It's a pleasure to meet you.)

Let's just assume they made it in before the time limit...

[personal profile] foolishjustice 2017-11-29 11:15 pm (UTC)(link)
[The coffee is, quite frankly, delicious...as long as you don't mind the lack of cream. It's slightly sweetened to offset the bitterness, but not so sweet as to overwhelm the rich taste of the coffee itself. It's certainly not instant, either...whoever designed the blend and brewed the cup this was based on must have been a master of their craft. Honestly, some might consider the fact that it closes the cut completely within two or three swallows to just be a bonus.]

It looks like that will be the case. It seems like it works quickly, as well.

By the way, how is it? I had a specific type of coffee in mind when I created it, but I'm not certain it won't simply reflect my own basic skills instead...
theirmagic: (56)

yeah they gotta figure this out

[personal profile] theirmagic 2017-11-29 11:23 pm (UTC)(link)
It's very good! And I usually don't even like coffee...

[ She is very surprised it does actually work?! ]

This is pretty advanced healing magic, by the way... usually such things take a fairly advanced level of study, but it would seem they've given you quite a leg up with it.
