[ Early in the morning, Croix will be found eating breakfast at the cafe first thing. She's got some coffee and a few donuts set up there in front of her. She's mostly just relaxing, because afterward she can be found working on the communal kitchen and bathing areas again for the rest of the morning.

Lunch is taken in the cat cafe where she'll be relaxing with some cats around her and one on her lap. She's eating some cup noodle that she seems familiar with, and anyone who stops by and looks in will realize there's hot sauce mixed into it.

After that, though, Croix will be in the barcade for awhile, playing various video games including being pretty damn good at DDR. She seems to be enjoying herself, at least! ]

[Akechi noticed Croix working a couple days ago, but he'd been too busy with his own mission to stop by. Today, however, he's walking up to her and holding out a bottle of water from a bag hanging from his arm.]

That's quite the ambitious project you've started on.

I like keeping busy. So I decided to do something useful.

[ She'll stand and wipe her brow. But she'll take the bottle of water, and take a long drink. She probably needs that. ]

[He sets the bag of assorted drinks down on the floor, then stands back up.]

Would you care for some assistance? I don't have much experience in construction, but I do have strong arms and steady hands.

I could use some help, yeah. And don't worry, it shouldn't be so hard. I'm Professor Croix Meridies.

[ She'll hold out a hand to shake, so at least she's polite. ]

[ So yeah, guess who brought you a present? Ursula unceremoniously dumps some of the things she'd received on a table at the cafe in front of Croix, but then, she hands her something more interesting than the spicy cup noodles: a rose with residual magic energy. ]

Payment for helping me, Croix. It saw fit to give these to me. More importantly... this rose has residual magical energy on it. Can you feel it? I certainly can. And I want to think it might belong to someone here. It feels almost important. So I was hoping maybe you could help me do a little detective work?

Awww, you found my brand!

[ She may be flirting. But then she'll look at the rose. Hm... ]

I don't know whose it could be. Any other clues?

Well... no. But I would be willing to bet it's someone who uses magic from a natural source like us. And of course I found your brand, they practically threw it at me.

[ A small laugh. ]

I only thought of you. It's too spicy for me to eat.

[ These two need to just smooch. ]

Thanks. But do you know anyone here who uses magic like that? I'm not exactly sure we have a great many clues to work with.

Not openly... but I'm sure if they use magic like this, wouldn't it still be on them? Or at least some residual energy of it? I only want to know so I can return this. It feels like a wand...

Are you sure? Given the new magic here, it might be covered by that.

[ Which is a Problem. ]

... I don't think so. Croix, tell me... how did the Shiny Rod feel? I can't actually get a sense off of everyone else's "powers" here or whatever they were given. This feels like it had to belong to someone that had their power... replaced, probably. Like us.

But it reminds me a bit of that, just weaker. Not quite a font of energy in and of itself--I doubt this rose is self-sufficient--but perhaps more of a... hm. Medium. As I said, it feels like a wand. And I'm positive from the profiles no one here got a power like that... at least, pretty sure.

That doesn't mean we'd be able to reasonably track it in our state, unfortunately. We may simply need to ask around.

Well, I have a good candidate in mind, actually, but I can't confirm it until I talk to him...
