Oh, you're a Gemini! How wonderful, it makes so much sense! Geminis are always wonderful research and discussion companions, when they speak, and they do speak quite often, they always have something so insightful to say!

I do quite enjoy conversation, yes. I don't have very many people back home I can have an extended discussion with, but that does make it a treat when I find the opportunity. That's actually how Kurusu-kun and I became friends, he surprised me with a bold comment during a talk show I was a guest on. Fate just happened to choose him as the audience member for the hostess to question, and he agreed to keep in contact.

I had a feeling you two were friends.

[ She smiles brightly. ]

He seems like an easy person to get along with. Well, I hope you know that you can count on me to be someone you can talk to, as well, anytime you need it, Goro. My door will always be open, so to speak.

[ First! Name! She's serious about being good to you, you're a good boy. ]

[When she calls him by his given name, he jumps a little, like she just said something surprising.]

[He doesn't seem angry, but the impression he gives is of someone who isn't on a first name basis with many people.]

Well, it would be rather... strange of me to keep calling you "detective" since we've gotten to know each other, wouldn't it? If it bothers you, though, I can stop...

[He brushes his hair back from his face, somewhat awkwardly.]

Not accustomed to hearing it, I suppose. The only person back in Tokyo that I'm on a first name basis with is my senpai in the legal system, so she refers to me by my surname to avoid sounding as though she's speaking down to me.

Ah, right, Japan has quite a lot of formalities, doesn't it?

[ She frowns. ]

I hope it doesn't bother you too much... I'm so used to speaking English, I hadn't even stopped to consider it.

It's fine. Actually, it's somewhat nice, having someone address me so familiarly. I rarely have people behave as if they've taken a personal interest in me.

I really do appreciate your putting up with me, I apologize regardless.

[ A small chuckle. ]

But I do consider you a friend.

I wouldn't describe it as putting up with you. Actually, I quite enjoy your company.

I enjoy yours as well! It's not every day I get to talk with someone so knowledgeable and compassionate. Actually, you quite remind me of one of our best students--Diana Cavendish. I suppose I can't help wanting to talk to you.

[ She runs a hand through her blue hair. ]

... Have I ever stopped to tell you much about Luna Nova, actually? And the curriculum there? The class I teach... Miss Cavendish not only aced it, but she accurately managed to predict someone's future. It's not every day you see that in a student.

I feel like the two of you are very similar.

[He shakes his head.]

All you've said thus far is that it's in Ireland, and that you're a teacher of astrology. You haven't spoken of the specific students much at all.

But, I'm not particularly surprised that I remind you of one of your top students. I'm actually an honor student, myself.

Oh, well, I'd love to tell you about it, if you're ever interested. Luna Nova is a wonderful school for the magical arts.

[ She smiles brightly. ]

A lot of aspiring witches have come and gone through its halls.

Once the scavenger hunt is over, perhaps we could exchange stories. Not that Tokyo is much of anything special, but it does have its oases here and there.

[He's sure she'd love the planetarium, for one thing...]

It would be nice. I wouldn't mind at all. Maybe you could tell me a bit about what your work is like? It must be exciting!

Not as much as you might think, actually. The majority of it is really just paperwork, and presenting my findings to the prosecutor in charge of the case. I'm afraid what you see on television is a slightly dramatized version of what being a detective is actually like. Not that dramatic confrontations with criminals don't happen on occasion, but most of the time that sort of thing is left to the ordinary officers.

... You might think me strange, but I'm actually the sort of person who finds that kind of information rather interesting? After all, a lot of hard work still goes into all of that. And I know plenty of witches who went on to work in the police force, so I'm really very curious, I suppose.

[ She's just naturally a busybody. ]

Not at all. I actually find studying to be very relaxing, myself. Unfortunately, it's often more tedious than informative. It's much more interesting discovering the details than it is translating them into legal speak for the courts.

I actually quite enjoy studying differing subjects myself. I spend a lot of my free time in Luna Nova's library...

[ Ha ha they're both nerds. ]

Even if you might think it tedious, I still think it'd be interesting.

Perhaps it's simply a matter of overexposure. I have been working with the police station for more than two years already, and that end of the work changes very little between cases. It might be more interesting to someone seeing how it works for the first time.
