Particularly if it's to last until we find an opportunity for escape. For now, shall we head downstairs? Some of these items seem as though we'd be best searching for them in the clothing stores.

Yeah. I wonder...most of the stuff on this list is things you can buy or spend money on, if it's not something you can just ask someone else for. Maybe it's living in a department store doing it, but this almost feels like...some weird promotional thing? Like they need people to shop at this abandoned, weird mall? Maybe that's dumb, I don't know...

The third tier, perhaps...I've already had to spend a sizeable amount on a suit I wouldn't have otherwise bothered with. The others can be checked off simply by seeing or touching them.

[Unless Joey objects, he'll be heading down to the punk store whose name he will never say.]

I find myself wondering if the point of this is to foster familiarity, so that we wouldn't expect any attempts at murder that may happen, or that we would have a better chance of identifying a killer from their MO.

[What, Death Crime Beast Rage? Sounds like the sort of word salad Joey's narrative voice produces on an hourly basis. Except it would only be two words in that case instead of four. She'll follow him there anyway. If she gets the cash, she's been considering some of the skirts...]

Maybe that's it. Or maybe the people running this want us to cooperate except on murder and escape attempts?

I can't imagine what the point of such a thing would be...then again, I have difficulty thinking of a reason why they might desire the deaths of people capable of using the powers we've been given in a fair competition, as well.

Fair competition? How do you mean?

I mean for one thing if it's a murder competition and they brought in a detective, that's kind of a game-breaker already, right?

I recall our..."Life Coach" telling Akira-kun that they need this to be fair, or it won't count. That seems to be her reason for not offering any direct assistance in understanding our situation.

Ugh. What they're doing and why they say they're doing it don't make any sense. We've got these special powers, but they want us to kill each other, but it has to be a fair game? Killing people isn't a game anyway!
