Yeah, you wouldn't do that. I wouldn't set a bird on fire even though it would turn orange and red and yellow.

[ That sounds horrible, but Dio said he wouldn't so she believes him. ]

Does that mean you've set other things on fire? Like firewood?

[notgentle]

Oh, yeah, sure. Firewood... And the rings of fire that the circus animals jump through.

[pinnately]

Oh! Are you a ring leader? You look like you would be a really good one.

[notgentle]

Oh! I most certainly am! [He tips his hat in acknowledgment, pink dusting his face.] I'm glad you noticed. It took a long time putting this uniform together... I really wanted to give people the, how you say, classic feel.

[pinnately]

[ She claps her hands together excitedly. ]

I think you did a really good job. What kind of animals do you have? Do you have any birdies or kitties?

[notgentle]

No birdi... birds. [Torri, you are adorable, but Dio is not going to lose his cool aura and call them that.] We have some lions and tigers and bears.

[pinnately]

[ Maybe she would have forgiven him for killing Wake if he did smh. ]

You're a really brave person Mr. Dio, to make all those animals get along. I'm sure you're all good friends too.

[notgentle]

Oh, shucks, it's not that big a deal; you just need to know how to handle them. As long as you keep their claws facing away from you, it's pretty hard to actually get injured.

[pinnately]

Not even if they tried to hug you?

[ She imagines getting hugged by a bear would hurt. ]

why is she so pure (I know I ask this like every third tag)

[notgentle]

Haha, well, most of these animals don't really hug anybody... They walk around on all four limbs, you know? It would be like if a human tried to hug someone by hooking their necks together. Doesn't come naturally to them, so you don't have to be afraid of it.

Then why are teddy bears usually sitting?

[notgentle]

Well, that's so you can look at them when they're sitting on your shelf or bed or whatever. But you see how they have paws on their hands as much as their feet, right? Bears obviously walk on those, they don't hold a knife or any fork or anything.

[pinnately]

Oh, I understand now. I wouldn't want them to feel awkward, and they don't need to use forks to eat even at tea parties.

[notgentle]

See, now you've got this. I'm sure you do a great job of pouring it out of the teapot for them.

Thank you! I've never thrown a tea party before, but I would like to try one day. But my teachers say I'm not a very good cook, so someone would have to show me how.
