We were both kind of outcasts in school, so we kind of drifted together there. She was around... Fifteen or sixteen? I'm a year older, so...

Though I imagine going to a magical school was much different than what I went through.

...They refused to adapt. Luna Nova is hundreds of years old, but everything's been kept the same as it was when it was founded. It's going to need to adapt to survive.

That is true. Adapting is an important part of keeping your place in society these days. Sticking to old traditions and ways of doing things can only hinder progress instead of encouraging it.

[ He knows that too well. At least before he got a bit of a reality check and managed to improve himself as a person. ]

Tradition should form a foundation. It shouldn't be everything.
