WEEK 3

[Once everyone has gotten out of the elevator, those who go to look for Akira and Kurama will find that they have been put into one of their rooms, together, safely tucked into bed with a glass of milk for each of them. And - aside from the bruises of being suctioned into a death cylinder and tranquilized with some very strong drugs - they are alive and unharmed.

Naturally, this means that Akira and Kurama are the first to experience the dreams, but everyone will experience them, once they finally fall asleep, for good and ill.

Despite everything, too, the survivors will find many other new things facing them as they wake up. A new evolution for their powers, a new wing...and a new rule, updated after the execution. The profiles have also been updated, to reflect the Titled's ever-dwindling numbers.

This is going to be a long week, that's for sure.

[ She's... Not going to wait very long, and is going to head for the Netfugee Cafe. And she's going to see if any of the computers take discs and immediately insert it if she does! ]

[Not only do all the computers take discs, but...guess what.

There's already a disc in the tower Croix ultimately chooses.]

[He will follow her to the Netfugee Cafe, though, and after noticing that disc... He's actually going to check the other computers there for discs, too.]

[Some have them in the tower, some have them on top of the tower, under the keyboard, but in the end?

Kurama finds thirteen other discs.]

It's titled REID, BRITT.]

[ What's in the folder? Because I should hope the tech genius who turned magic wifi would be able to navigate a computer. ]

[There is a plethora of things in this folder. Birth certificate, some social columns, information about Britt's newspaper and his daily schedule, pictures of friends and family and enemies (alive and otherwise), gifs of newspaper clippings of a vigilante named Green Hornet, even some pictures from camera feeds.

Then there's a pdf file simply titled Consent.]

[It's a long document, with a lot of legalese that would go over all but the most lawyer-y of minds. Save for the end.

[Kurama is double-checking towers, there's a slight edge as he searches for any marked Kurusu, Akira, Akechi, Goro, or Callistis, Ursula. He'll check the folder of whichever of those names he finds first.]

There must be one for each of us.

[CALLISTIS, URSULA is next. Though, before he even finds consent.pdf, he will also find boatloads of information regarding someone named Chariot du Nord in the folder. And not a lot about Ursula Callistis.

[Luckily, Kurama already knew this. Though he wonders, given the preponderance, if Ursula reclaimed her identity but just doesn't remember it.

...He's also concerned if his own disc will have a lot more about someone named Kurama than about Shuuichi Minamino.

Consent.pdf rings a lot of bells, though, so he'll check it out.]

Meridies-san.... Ursula's disc is very much skewed towards her other identity.

[Kurama is actually going to read through that legalese that accompanies the straightforward part. There may have been a lot of Reikai legal paperwork involved in his parole along with his low-key propensity to read what's on Koenma's desk in meetings.

All three worlds approach contracts a bit differently, so he's trying to identify any familiar patterns.]

[No way to sugar coat it. There is a shit ton of legalese. Dozens of pages worth of it. Whoever wrote this contract was clearly aiming to be as airtight as possible.

There are several words that seem to keep popping up, however. "Composer", "Conductor", and "Player", especially.]

[Kurama assumes that 'Player' refers to them. Those other two terms, though... Are there two masterminds behind this?

Is there any terminology that indicates how the Composer and the Conductor relate to each other?]

...we may have. The question is whether we consented with a genuine knowledge of what this 'Game' entailed.

[Kurama sounds...tightly leashed. Like carefully restrained anger simmering under a cool facade.]

Why... Chariot would never agree to this kind of game...! They had to have lied!

Those shadows stalking our homes... If the motive-sender is telling the truth, then that danger was not their doing. Which means it may have started before this game did.
