THE THIRD TRIAL

[It happens again, like clockwork. Once the final clues have happened, the elevator in the food court opens with a DING. It doesn't leave until everyone has gotten on, and the thought occurs to everyone that they shouldn't waste time.

An innocent man was ruthlessly murdered, after all. After everything that's happened.

Just as before, everyone who is still alive will find their favorite food and drink at their platform. And just as before, Akechi, Helena and Ren's platforms have now been lowered and covered with a white cloth, joining the increasing number of dead spaces in the trial area. Helena's platform, however, has an addition not present on any other deceased's platform: a single white lily, placed almost reverently on top.

Well. Whatever reason that lily is there, it shouldn't detract from the fact that there is a trial to be had here, once more. Its time to look at the evidence at hand, and to hopefully find whoever did this heinous crime.

So, it's time, Titled.

Kurama. If your past self was running this... Would they take us just letting this happen again as a sign of continued rebellion and something to worry about, or would they see us as people who can't stand by our convictions and thus just mice in a trap making noise who will ultimately fall in line?

If my past self was running this, I would not have been so careless. I may have been cold to my underlings but I was not abusive. If I believed a pawn might betray me, I removed it from the board.

I sent an assassin to dispatch my own second because he was a reckless fool, though the attack only blinded him.

If I were running this, Nyaf-ya would not have been built with a will of her own. Coco-san would not have been framed, and you, Meridies-san, would be dead already.

So all in all, perhaps it is best that I am not running this. The one who is, is a fool, and you will outwit them in the end. But not if you all die here.

Kurama. You're talking to someone who's probably a dead woman walking for what she's done. I betrayed the person in charge. And given how good they've been at this? I doubt they'll let me get off without a scratch.
