WEEK 1
[Well, this is...happening. This is a thing. This is your life now. The Commander is expecting you to just up and kill one another, and then try to get away with it. No big deal, right? You guys can handle this. You won't fall for what she has. She's clearly an idiot. A loud idiot, but still an idiot. She's not going to get one over you.
...Right?
In any case, the Commander's quarters are now open for anyone who decides they can actually stand to be in the same room as her, but beware - any favor you might ask of her is going to come at a price, and who knows what she'll ask you to do if you decide to gain a boon from her. Unless you're a suck-up like Baku - then she'll apparently be flattered. Maybe that's a good tactic to use?
Whatever you do, try not to murder the bread again. The Bread Did Nothing Wrong.
There are fifteen strangers in this place.]

But that headache or some relative is probably going to make a return appearance late in the day, in the library. Anyone watching Jonathan will probably assume he's gone even crazier than he was acting yesterday, as every so often during his haphazard search through the shelves he turns to one side as though he's expecting someone to be there. He is, in fact, expecting someone to be there; it's a well-established habit. The way he wilts a little bit more each time there's not a person standing where he looks speaks to it being a little bit more than just taking someone's presence for granted... and the apology to anyone he actually does suddenly turn to is quiet, and comes with an absolutely crestfallen expression.]
no subject
Honestly. Is my appearance that distressing to you?
no subject
[He shakes his head, and pulls what looks like some kind of middle-school history textbook off the shelf, opening it to the page with copyright and publication information. He doesn't recognize the publishing company, of course, but that's to be expected since - ]
I mean, this thing's from 1994. Fifty years in the future from me. I'm kind of afraid to actually look at it, you know?
no subject
[Rosenkreuz stares because wow. He's from 1485.]
That's closer to 500 years in the future for me.
[However, he's calm by comparison. It's not his first run-in with temporal shenanigans. His eyes have lit up a bit, since this makes a lot of things make more sense.]
Well, how interesting. A companion of mine had come to my side from this era, but to think fate would send me to the other side of the stream of time!!
[So, uh, if you don't want to check it then he'd probably be game.]
no subject
[He offers Rozenkreuz the book, handling it like it might bite.]
It sounds like you've had to deal with this before, so, uh... mind doing the honors?
no subject
[He takes it... the book is strange to him as well, the pages a smoother paper than he's ever seen before. Cracking it open, even the words are.]
Such uniform lettering. [Guess this means the printing press took off!! Haha nice. Just gonna trace down that table of contents here.] ...Was there a particular topic you wanted to know about?
no subject
[He looks more nauseous than grave. It'd just be his luck to have gotten knocked out and kidnapped and somehow then Nazi Vampires happened....]
no subject
Then you're in luck, as this tome does have it. But is this truly how you wish to know what will transpire?
no subject
[If he seems unnecessarily tense, well... it'll take asking to find out, but it's been a very real and very frustrating fear for him for the past few years that they might. He couldn't enlist because he was too young when the war started....]
no subject
[Well, if this is the difference in his nerves between killing his way out or not, might as well read it. It's far enough in the future for him that it doesn't matter, so he'll skim.
His face hardens in the middle, as one might expect. But in the end, he finds it after identifying several keywords to look for.]
According to this, the Reichstag is captured on April 30th, 1945, which marks the defeat of Nazi Germany. This Hitler you mentioned will also take his own life shortly after. The country of Japan... [Which he does not recognize, but it sounds kind of like the country he knows as Cipangu] ...surrenders after a weapon called the 'atomic bomb' is unleashed on two of their cities...
[But nothing about vampires.]
Shall I go on?
no subject
So next April, huh... no, no, you're fine to stop there. Thanks - and I mean it. Pretty silly of me, being all chicken, but... well, now I know. Even if I can't go home, the world's still going to be there.
[Vampire problem aside, anyway. But - he knows a girl who can take care of that even without him.]
no subject
I doubt we'll truly be here for the rest of our lives, but we must still do what we can to hold up in attrition. Even if it is but mental preparations.
(no subject)
library
Are you alright?
no subject
You want the honest answer? I don't think anybody stuck here can say "yes" to that.
no subject
I'm holding up alright, but... You keep looking around.
no subject
[And, well, if there is somebody there, maybe he'll stop expecting that girl to be with him. It really feels wrong, thinking "that girl", but....]
no subject
[Yet for all the world, Nagisa seems to be.]
no subject
[Not that he's doing too great at that himself, if even a kid is noticing he's not all put together. A kid who seems to be doing way better at it, which is... a little concerning, but not as much as it probably should be.]
no subject
no subject
"Something like", huh? What's the something?
no subject
A coup d'etat. [Beat.] ...Well, not really...
no subject
[He can only keep a straight face for so long, and "so long" right now seems to be about a second and a half....]
no subject
[Rebellion is important, as Jonathan learns in a later thread!]
no subject
If they're going to disappoint us with the prison food, for gods' sake, they really half-assed it.
[ Yes.
He's literally disappointed that he's not disappointed enough. ]
no subject
[He's honestly not sure which Molly means, there, but he can't really argue either way.]
