[Well, this is...happening. This is a thing. This is your life now. The Commander is expecting you to just up and kill one another, and then try to get away with it. No big deal, right? You guys can handle this. You won't fall for what she has. She's clearly an idiot. A loud idiot, but still an idiot. She's not going to get one over you.

...Right?

In any case, the Commander's quarters are now open for anyone who decides they can actually stand to be in the same room as her, but beware - any favor you might ask of her is going to come at a price, and who knows what she'll ask you to do if you decide to gain a boon from her. Unless you're a suck-up like Baku - then she'll apparently be flattered. Maybe that's a good tactic to use?

I agree. I don't believe she's the one running this. She's too bombastic. She's the kind of character who'd make an excellent peon, but not a very good leader.

She implied just that. She mentioned "being put in charge". This is apparently the best post she's had.

Yeah, which would explain why she's so... eager?

That or her fondness for tasteless pranks.

If you want a shower the "favor" she'll ask is to play a tasteless prank. She also implied when she asked that that she knows everything going on here. She probably can even see and hear this meeting.

[ There's a sigh and nod. ]

Given the cameras, I'm not surprised.

[ He glances around, as though looking for one. ]

At this point, I don't really care if she's watching and listening. [ a shrug ] I'll more than happily tell her anything I'd say here about her, right to her face. The main thing being that I'm not going to play nicely with this game of her.

It would make it difficult to make plans against her though.

Fortunately, "difficult" isn't synonymous with "impossible." It just means we have to think outside the box.

I think she probably is getting something out of this. Has anyone gotten what out of her, aside from that the position is good?

Honestly, I still haven't bothered trying to talk to her after the initial meeting. I'm waiting for the ringing in my ears to stop.

I'll try and get it out of her. Flattery and charisma are my forte, and she's laughably easy.

It actually makes some sense when you think about it. She's not in command of any soldiers that we've seen. This appears to be a very remote base as well. If this is the best she's gotten, imagine how terrible the past ones have been. Does that sound like someone truly respected?

Hardly. However, the Rose Crusaders had a little thing called standards.

One would think the blood sport would suffice. Some people are so difficult to please.

Ambition. I would question if this truly looked like a place with opportunities to climb the ranks, were it not for the fact that she's already crawled up from somewhere lower.

[He just sighs at this.]

If you want a foot in the door, you start small. Like an insect. And if you want to manipulate someone into doing your dirty work, you offer them that supposed foot in the door.

Calling it manipulation seems rather generous.

[I mean honestly, she's getting a kick out of this, does she really look like she needed to be manipulated at all. Even if she did, it would be like shooting fish in a barrel...]

Just because she'd be easy prey and a fool who doesn't realize she's a fool doesn't mean she's not one.

On that we agree, but unfortunately that knowledge doesn't do much to narrow it down.

I considered if it was just an act, but... she seems kinda...
