[Well, this is...happening. This is a thing. This is your life now. The Commander is expecting you to just up and kill one another, and then try to get away with it. No big deal, right? You guys can handle this. You won't fall for what she has. She's clearly an idiot. A loud idiot, but still an idiot. She's not going to get one over you.

...Right?

In any case, the Commander's quarters are now open for anyone who decides they can actually stand to be in the same room as her, but beware - any favor you might ask of her is going to come at a price, and who knows what she'll ask you to do if you decide to gain a boon from her. Unless you're a suck-up like Baku - then she'll apparently be flattered. Maybe that's a good tactic to use?


Whatever you do, try not to murder the bread again. The Bread Did Nothing Wrong.

Well...what about these powers that everyone keeps talking about? Do you think any of them might be useful?

[She thinks she knows hers and is really hoping everyone else's are better.]

[ He hasn't had a chance to fully memorize everyone's power from the profiles, yet. But... ]

From what I've read, some of them seem to be good for things like defense and... distractions?

[ For a moment, he rubs at his face. ]

To be honest, a little creativity can go a long way. We just need to work together to see what we'll be up against. Also... maybe find a way to communicate privately, since I'm sure we're being listened to and watched closely.

That's...not as promising...

[She was hoping for something along the lines of 'Make people spontaneously explode' but...she might be able to work with this. Maybe.]

It might help if we knew what everyone's powers were. Where did you read about them?

[Yeah, she still doesn't know the watch is more than it seems.]

[ He tries to give her a reassuring smile, but it doesn't go quite as intended - at first attempt, anyway. After that, he nods and moves just close enough to begin showing her how to use the device.

First things first, he shows the profiles. Then... ]

And we can even send messages over this thing.

[ He sends one to his own device, which reads: "Like so." (He shows her said message.) ]

...wow.

[Holographs? Profiles for all of them? Instant messaging?]

So, wait, is my power really...

[She lifts up her hand, thinking about it for a second, before there's a green glow that envolops her hand. It quickly disappears, before she looks back at Akira.]

I...don't suppose that could be useful at all?

[beguiledcard]

[ Honestly, the holographs are even cool to him! It's like something straight out of a movie!! ]

Yep.

[ There's not even a pause, either, before he responds to her question: ]

Think of it this way? If we have a power outage, you'll immediately be the most important person here. Even more importantly: it looks incredibly awesome.

True. And thanks.

[She didn't even think of something like that. She mostly just thought of comic books and what radiation did to people in them.]

What about you? What's your power?

My power, huh...

[ He is quiet for a moment, and then he closes his eyes. A familiar... His mind goes to the one being he'd grown to trust with his very life. In a matter of several seconds, there's suddenly a cat at his feet.

The second Akira's eyes open, landing directly on the creature, he freezes up for a second. In that moment, his expression is a tad bit strained, though he forces a smile. ]

I can- make a familiar. [ a discreetly tense breath is taken ] That's what my friend from home looks like... His name is Morgana.

[earietale]

Huh. Cool.

[Yeah, she's definitely petting the cat. He seems nice.

But she can't help but give him a concerned look when she looks back at him. He did not seem alright with this in some way.]

Is...Morgana okay? Back at you're home?

[Her first thoughts are kind of just 'dead cat' and so now she's worried.]

[ The cat familiar meows and immediately headbutts her hand! He's purring, especially as Akira crouches down to hesitantly join the petting.

Meanwhile, Akira blinks, and then quickly nods. ]

Last I remember, yeah... [ brow tense, he shakes his head ] I hope he still is. A lot can change in just a month.

[earietale]

[Oh, that is cute! She is definitely scratching between his ears. The area most pets love getting scratched.

Barbara can't help but glance up at Akira for a second before looking back down at Morgana.]

I'm sorry you have to go through something like this again. I'll admit that I don't know much about situations like these, but I do know that nobody deserves going through something like this.

[She's trying to sound as comforting as possible, and she is certainly comforting. This isn't exactly consoling Walter over some bullying, but she needed to do something.]

[beguiledcard]

[ He's quiet as he listens, and then a small smile tugs at his lips as he nods and briefly touches her shoulder. ]

And you don't deserve to go through it even once.

[ Briefly, he scratches under Familiar Morgana's chin, though the words are to her again. ]

[She didn't really expect that. She can't help but look at him for a second before looking back at Morgana.]

It's no problem. Just...trying to make a bad situation better, really.

And...thank you as well.

[beguiledcard]

[ He offers her a smile when she looks at him, followed by a firm nod. ]

One day at a time... One problem at a time. It's all we can do.

[ With that, he leans against the wall a bit, eyes closing for the amount of time it takes him to inhale deeply. ]

Even if there's no motive on Tuesday, I'll see if you guys are okay with another meeting. Let's use the rest of this week to investigate and see what all we can learn about our situation.

[She nods her head a little, already trying to think of places she could investigate. She has one idea that she thinks might be good, but it might need to wait a little. Even still, anything is better than nothing.]

I'll see what I can do.

I'm sure there's still plenty to uncover in the library, but maybe we can start focusing on other rooms.

[ He thinks for a moment. ]

Hm. I wonder what kinds of things could be found in the theater... [ tilting his head a bit at her ] Wanna help me explore it later? Maybe Friday?

[ Because, maybe if he plans for something distracting, it could help him through that day. Just ignore the tension in his voice on that last word, and it's all good. ]

Sure, but...don't get too upset if there's not much that could help us there. I watched a couple of their movies and if the rest of them are like how those were, it's not gonna be fun.

[She noticed that Friday doesn't seem like a good day for him, but she'll give him the benefit of the doubt. Sometimes you need to talk about things, other times it's best to just let them be.]

[ He nods. ]

Fair enough. I don't plan on only going there to watch the movies right away. I want to thoroughly look around first.

Alright. Any specific time? I’m available whenever.

[Not like they have to follow schedules or anything.]

Maybe... around noon? Preferably after lunch, at least. We might cover more ground that way, without having a major meal cutting into it.

[ In spite of everything, food is still an important detail to consider! (Spoiler: he's more considering her, than himself.) ]

[ The Morgana familiar is very happy with the petting!! It's eventually going to flop over onto its side and briefly nuzzle her foot. ]

[ Very gently, Morgana familiar is going to attack her hand! Enjoy those playful nibbles to the hand, as well as some gentle kicks~

Which gets a chuckle out of Akira. And now he's going to sit back and quietly listen to everyone else talk for a moment. ]
