[Well, this is...happening. This is a thing. This is your life now. The Commander is expecting you to just up and kill one another, and then try to get away with it. No big deal, right? You guys can handle this. You won't fall for what she has. She's clearly an idiot. A loud idiot, but still an idiot. She's not going to get one over you.

...Right?

In any case, the Commander's quarters are now open for anyone who decides they can actually stand to be in the same room as her, but beware - any favor you might ask of her is going to come at a price, and who knows what she'll ask you to do if you decide to gain a boon from her. Unless you're a suck-up like Baku - then she'll apparently be flattered. Maybe that's a good tactic to use?


Whatever you do, try not to murder the bread again. The Bread Did Nothing Wrong.

[ hitsugaya's up early, but there's something different about him. he's not wearing his sword. amazing. still, he seems to be set on something... and he walks straight to the computer room. he also has the manual with him, because he does not know how to code and hack at all, even if he's familiar with the technology itself.

before he gets to trying to hack the computers though, he'll take a look around the room and look at the floppy disks and the computer cassettes. is there anything to make note of about these?

later on in the day, after he emerges from the computer room, hitsugaya goes to the mess hall. he goes to make himself a cup of tea, and when he tastes it...his nose scrunches up. seems like someone might be a picky drinker. ]

[One thing Toushiro will notice right away is that almost every piece of technology is dated in comparison to tech that he might be familiar with. The latest dates on this stuff is from the early 1990s.]

[toushiro]

[ huh! interesting. though he has been around for over a century, so he may have seen some of this stuff before. regardless, he's going to examine these closely; he'll take one of the floppy disks first and give it a once-over.

also, what year is it right now? ]

[strangerpeople]

[That's a very good question. There's no overt clock on the computer screen like with later computers, so he'll need to access the calendar function somehow.]

[toushiro]

[ HM. is that something he can figure out with the manual? and also, is there a place where he can slide these floppy disks in? ]

[strangerpeople]

[There is the tape deck on the keyboard for tapes, but there is a double-floppy dock in between each set of two computers.

And yes, there is a command to get to the computer's calendar data. RUN is for automatically running a program. CAL(INSERT NUMBER VARIABLE 1-9) is the calendar program. Put them together and you get the calendar.]

[ alright, that's actually really helpful. he'll slide in a floppy disk after this.

for now, he's going to attempt to get into the calendar. he types in RUN CAL(1). did he do that right? ]

[REH-REH-REH. Ah, that telltale loading sound.

But load it does. The calendar date is 19/7/10xxxAHEB.]

[toushiro]

[ hm. that's definitely odd. well, at least he knows it's july 19th. still, the five digits at the end is concerning. he narrows his eyes, makes note of it.

then he'll try something else: RUN CAL(2). ]

[A new calendar pops up. According to this one, it’s 2/10/1996.]

[toushiro]

[ oh.

okay, this is confusing. toushiro's going to try one more: RUN CAL(3). ]

[toushiro]

[ ...okay. so...he'll look at the other dates later. or someone else can do it. but basically, there's no real reliable calendar? that's what he's getting.

he'll try to insert the floppy disk, now. ]

[The disk is taken by the tower!

And nothing happens. Looks like this needs to be manually run in the computer as well.]

[ got it. is there a specific function the guidebook will tell him about in regards to using floppy disks? ]

[strangerpeople]

[There is! First you put in LOAD “$”, 8. Then once it’s ready, type in LIST to see what’s on the floppy.

Once he inevitably does this he will find a program there: LOAD SPECHOLO/GATO 8,1 along with a list of other data.]

[toushiro]

[ he's going to do all that, then! and once he finds the program, he types that in, too.

what's that going to do? ]

okay. he tries to play it, but he realizes he really doesn't have time for this, so he exits the game. would it be okay for him to take another floppy disk? ]

[Not at all. He has a computer in his room after all!]

[ SORRY I'M JUST CLARIFYING: it's not okay for him to take another disk, right? ]

[It is ok to take it! Someone just doesn't know how to English and was responding as if you were asking if anyone minded. Oops]

[toushiro]

[ no worries! <3 so...okay. toushiro's gonna take the disk and head to his room to try it out! can i ask what he'd be able to get on this one? (after this i'm done i swear) ]

[It's a word processor program called ScriptSpeed. There is one document saved on the disc: electro.PRG.]

[ hm. can he open it with the word processor program? ]
