[Well, this is...happening. This is a thing. This is your life now. The Commander is expecting you to just up and kill one another, and then try to get away with it. No big deal, right? You guys can handle this. You won't fall for what she has. She's clearly an idiot. A loud idiot, but still an idiot. She's not going to get one over you.

...Right?

In any case, the Commander's quarters are now open for anyone who decides they can actually stand to be in the same room as her, but beware - any favor you might ask of her is going to come at a price, and who knows what she'll ask you to do if you decide to gain a boon from her. Unless you're a suck-up like Baku - then she'll apparently be flattered. Maybe that's a good tactic to use?


Whatever you do, try not to murder the bread again. The Bread Did Nothing Wrong.

It's another one of those things I can't put a finger on. For some reason, I spent some time reading about Loki. It felt important - kind of like I was doing it because of someone, even though I can't think of anyone.

[ Annnd just going to shrug now. ]

Hm... amnesia? That's... unsettling... you had memories taken?

Yeah. That's how these kinds of places usually do it. They'll take memories of things away, sometimes of things that are very difficult to miss being gone.

Last time, I couldn't remember something as extreme as either of my own parents. But that was combined with memories that I didn't even notice were gone, thanks to the nature of them.

[crouching_sin]

Not as... wait.

[Parents. His parents. His first parents.]

[His face goes even paler than it already was.]

That's... not possible. I'm not supposed to forget, that's the whole point -

[ He blinks a couple of times... ]

The whole point of... what? [ for that matter: ] What's the whole point?

Tch. Never mind. It's nothing you should be concerned about... this is irritating, however.

[ Oof.

He shifts a bit. ]

If it helps... they came back gradually, in the mall. One memory a week.

[ But... ]

Not that it makes it a guarantee or anything, but... maybe?

... Maybe.

[He huffs a little, a somewhat... less malicious half-smirk on his face.]

I never thought I would miss having a memory...

[ He nods. ]

I think... it's their way of trying to make us more cooperative and more desperate. They want us to kill, after all, and... what better way to ensure you win a game, than to put the better pieces on your side of the board?

[ A momentary glare rests on his face as he looks to the floor. He's been doing a damn good job at holding himself together, for the most part. But slip-ups happen, which is why his voice is a little unsteady: ]

We can't let them win this... fucked up game...

This isn't even an advantage for them, it's just frustrating.

[... Huh. So Akira can be pushed. Interesting to know.]

[ In spite of the slip-up, he's already managing to reel it in. After a slow breath, he shakes his head and replies in a semi-tired voice: ]

Frankly? [ voice going just a little quieter ] The ones in charge probably don't need every person's memories to be hacked up in a way that works in their favor. They probably targeted the ones they think will break the fastest.

Heh. That is a fair point. It's not like it takes many people to plan a murder.

And if they're sadistic and twisted enough, they probably want this thing dragged out.

Unfortunately, that's probably true. As much as we want to admit that this will be over quickly... it probably won't be.
