[Well, this is...happening. This is a thing. This is your life now. The Commander is expecting you to just up and kill one another, and then try to get away with it. No big deal, right? You guys can handle this. You won't fall for what she has. She's clearly an idiot. A loud idiot, but still an idiot. She's not going to get one over you.

...Right?

In any case, the Commander's quarters are now open for anyone who decides they can actually stand to be in the same room as her, but beware - any favor you might ask of her is going to come at a price, and who knows what she'll ask you to do if you decide to gain a boon from her. Unless you're a suck-up like Baku - then she'll apparently be flattered. Maybe that's a good tactic to use?


Whatever you do, try not to murder the bread again. The Bread Did Nothing Wrong.

[Naoya has gone without showers before, but at this point he'd really rather not.]

[So he's engineered a solution - he's disconnected the hose from his spacesuit and managed to fit it around the head of the sink in the men's room. He's stuffed the space with some of the wrappers from the military rations, and cut holes in another plastic wrapper to form a crude showerhead.]

[On the door, there's a sign.]

Showers available.

Please flip the indicator to 'occupied' when you are using it.

[There's another little sign, attached with tape, that has 'open' on one side and 'occupied' in another.]

[The water will probably get all over the floor, and there's no towels, but at least the 'shower' should work?]

Any chance you could make one for the girls bathroom too?

[Look. The sole teenage girl here has gone too long without a shower, and she’d prefer asking about these new ones than immediately going to the Commander and asking her.]

[He just sighs.]

If you get me another hose from one of the spacesuits. Otherwise I can make sure no one comes in while you're in there.

[Looks at the back of her own suit.

Just...sighs and turns around.]

I don’t think I’m going to need it, so you can go ahead.

[She just needs a shower.]

[He nods and carefully disconnects the hose from her back.]

We'll need to head to the cafeteria to gather a few things to finish this. And the water will get on the floor.

[Just... fair warning.]

[Obviously.]

What do we need? Plastic wrap? Duct tape?

I haven't found any duct tape, so I've been using wrappers from the rations to stuff in the holes and one with some cut holes to use as a showerhead. You have to hold it, but like you said, it's better than dealing with her.

Well, it’s probably gonna be difficult, but it doesn’t look like anything here will be easy.

Do you want to walk with me or should I just go and grab the stuff?

[She sort of wants to properly introduce herself, but he doesn’t seem like the most sociable, so...*shrug*]

I'll walk with you. Let's go.

[Not like he's going to be able to do much else around here right now. He's too prone to a headache right now to do hacking.]

[Maybe if she introduces herself they won’t go into awkward silence.]

[He's fine with awkward silence, but if they're going that route... maybe he can get some information.]

Naoya. ... You're American, I'm guessing?

Um, sort of? I’m from America, but both my parents are from Norway. I think that still counts, though.

Are you...not from America, then?

[Part of her assumed most people were. Everyone else was from various other English speaking countries.]

It's just the name, it sounded American. And you look like you're Western, at least.

I was living in Japan before this, though I've really lived all over.

Yeah, that’s fair. My mom and dad decided to just have more American names for their kids, like Molly or Calvin or Sam.

[She blinks in surprise. She wasn’t expecting that as an answer!]

Japan? Wow. I didn’t think we’d be from all over the world.

Hm? Oh, yes. There's at least one other person here I know for sure is from Japan. At least, I'm reasonably sure.

Do you think you can translate for them then? Or can they speak English too?

[‘Cause clearly that’s what language is being said right now.]

Well, I could. But I'm not speaking English right now. I assume you are?

[ He probably noticed that Akira's outright tense today, but after the shower is put up?

Frankly, he feels half-tempted to outright hug the guy...

It's not long after Naoya's finished his work, Akira will be approaching him and holding out some coffee he made. ]

No regrets on turning her down.

[ Oh, right... He hasn't even told Naoya about it. He rolls his eyes and looks to the side. ]

... Our "darling Commander" tried to get me to dump something gross on you, when I asked what I needed to do to be able to use her shower.

[Sadly, hugging probably wouldn't go over well. But he glances up and takes the coffee. ... He really should be more suspicious, but he's reasonably sure Akira won't poison him. He doesn't seem to be the type, based on the evidence he has right now.]

... Heh. Well, it's a good thing you didn't - I only have the one outfit right now.

[ It's actually a good thing Naoya isn't the type to bring up suspicions. Poisoning was kind of... Kurama's thing. ]

Yeah. [ caaasual shrug, though something is softened in his gaze as he looks away ] Even that detail aside, I'm no bully. I'd sooner be the guy to punch the bully, these days.

Heh. You do seem like the type. ... I'll keep watch if you want to take a shower, though. We only have the one bathroom and more men than women, after all.

Really? I'd appreciate that a lot. [ briefly running his fingers through his hair, which is a greasy mess lbr ] I managed with the sinks the best I could, but...

[ Yeeeah... ]

It's definitely not perfect, and we don't have shampoo, and it gets all over the floor... but it's better than nothing, isn't it? It's no problem for me to keep watch.

Better than what I was about to try... Shoving my head under the faucet would have been annoying, even if I guess it would have worked.

[ He nods and very lightly taps Naoya's upper arm before he starts towards the shower! ]
