[Well, this is...happening. This is a thing. This is your life now. The Commander is expecting you to just up and kill one another, and then try to get away with it. No big deal, right? You guys can handle this. You won't fall for what she has. She's clearly an idiot. A loud idiot, but still an idiot. She's not going to get one over you.

...Right?

In any case, the Commander's quarters are now open for anyone who decides they can actually stand to be in the same room as her, but beware - any favor you might ask of her is going to come at a price, and who knows what she'll ask you to do if you decide to gain a boon from her. Unless you're a suck-up like Baku - then she'll apparently be flattered. Maybe that's a good tactic to use?


Whatever you do, try not to murder the bread again. The Bread Did Nothing Wrong.

[There's an annoying amount of unknowns in what Akira says, but Yurick doesn't focus on any of it for once. He edges around the alligator, only taking his attention off his gear long enough to be sure he won't bump into the surly reptile. Upon reaching the table, he picks up the beads, rolling them in his fingers.]

Why take our things only to give them back?

[He looks toward Akira with a flicker of something like hope in his expression.]

I don't have anything to barter....

Personally, I'm thinking whoever did this gets some sick satisfaction out of us having to earn our things back.

[ He sighs... and then he finds himself blinking in surprise at the next words. Without an ounce of hesitation, he gestures at the items. ]

I don't expect anything in return. It's all yours, to begin with, right?

Considering everything else that's expected of us, I'd have to agree.

[The clothing can wait, but he's felt almost naked without the beads. Right there he takes up one of the long locks on either side of his head, starting to work it into two braids by feel alone.]

These... they're some of the only things I have left from my parents. Thank you for returning them to me.

[ He tilts his head, watching with some fascination. His smile shifts to something gentle as he nods. ]

Then... that makes me all the happier I was able to give them back to you. In a place like that, those kinds of things can be the difference between- [ incredibly brief pause, possibly close to unnoticeable ] -true strength of heart and desperation.
