WEEK 1

WEEK 1

[Well, this is...happening. This is a thing. This is your life now. The Commander is expecting you to just up and kill one another, and then try to get away with it. No big deal, right? You guys can handle this. You won't fall for what she has. She's clearly an idiot. A loud idiot, but still an idiot. She's not going to get one over you.

...Right?

In any case, the Commander's quarters are now open for anyone who decides they can actually stand to be in the same room as her, but beware - any favor you might ask of her is going to come at a price, and who knows what she'll ask you to do if you decide to gain a boon from her. Unless you're a suck-up like Baku - then she'll apparently be flattered. Maybe that's a good tactic to use?

Whatever you do, try not to murder the bread again. The Bread Did Nothing Wrong.

There are fifteen strangers in this place.]

Yes, it seems like even with different times and places we share enough in common to be able to find some common ground.

That's part of being people, isn't it?

[personal profile] illusionarymelody 2018-08-01 02:35 am (UTC)(link)
Well, I think it's interesting that we have all these different places and yet we remain mostly the same with the same problems, hopes and fears.

It's not that strange, though, is it? Especially in a place like this, where we have to confront the same situation. No one wants to die.

[Well. No one wants death for itself.]

[Vita would actually disagree with that no one wants to die bit because she has known and currently knows some people who are looking for a place to die.]

In some ways it is. Wouldn't you like to see a place where people only need weapons for defense against monsters and to prepare or hunt food?

[Korosensei wanted to 'die' - but not for death itself. He wanted to be killed by his students, to show how far they'd come, to prove themselves. He wanted death for what it would mean.]

Well... In my world, most people only really have kitchen knives? Sure there are soldiers and hunters and all, but the vast majority of people can count on their lives being peaceful.

[Nagisa is not 'the vast majority of people'.]

It would be nice if there were no wars, but... [Thinking that all seven billion people on the planet could get along for more than maybe a few seconds is naive.]

I'd have thought I could count on our lives being peaceful, but when a war causes the city you live in to be occupied, there is no peace.

There hasn't been war in Japan for a long time. It's all been elsewhere - different places at different times, but...

[But that's not something he's studied extensively.]

It sounds like our homes are really different.

It does sound that way. It must definitely be somewhere far away from Zemuria since everything just sounds so very different and while each nation has their own political problems, each area has plenty of things in common.

I've never heard of a place called Zemuria... [It doesn't sound Asian, for sure. Maybe it's European?] Japan is a small country, on a volcanic archipelago...

[Maybe it's missable? It doesn't feel like it would be, but then again, he's Japanese.]

I've definitely not heard of Japan, but since I've not traveled outside of western Zemuria I cannot say if it is just faraway or not. It sounds like an interesting place though.

I'd thought Japan was pretty well-known globally, but I think our real claim to fame is technology, so...maybe somewhere less advanced wouldn't know.
