IT'S MY PARTY! AND I'LL CRY IF I WANT TO, CRY IF I WANT TO
[One hour after the execution, prisoners who have gone back down to the dorm floor will find Angela waving outside the mess hall.]
In honor of what Akira definitely would have wanted and Vita probably at least would have laughed about, we're all having dinner together.
[There's pots of coffee, and glasses of soda, and something like garlic bread, and spaghetti, and it sounds like there's even more food cooking in the kitchen.]
This would be a great time to share anything you got from playing ET, too, you know? [She's just trying to start conversation about literally anything else...]

No, not this time. I'm not sure any of the rest of them would be as entertaining as Akira was.

He... reminded me of someone close to me, who could have chosen a different path and not become my enemy. And he apparently succeeded in doing some incredible things... heh. He offered to help me with mine, if he could. No chance of that now, I suppose...

I think... Akira was definitely... not the kind of guy that you meet every day... I tried to tell him that, but he was like "I'm just me"...
...he could have... been himself more alive, but oh well.........

But people like that never do think that they're exceptional...

I mean... His intentions were good... I can understand how someone would think it's the right thing to do. Even though you creep me out saying everyone can get bought, it doesn't exactly bother me that you see Akira the way you do.
But... [With the tip of the knife she flops over one of the eggplant pieces.] I think there were other ways to do the same thing. If we all just knew about the note, wouldn't there be no way for Vita or Akira to hurt anyone? Of course nobody would get the prize, but - I mean, the way things happened, Vita sure isn't getting the prize, you know, uh, I'm rambling...

... Possibly, though I doubt that either of them would have remained so... well. They wouldn't have been in a sane state of mind, in all likelihood. And Vita, at least, likely would have found a way to kill someone anyway.
And Akira... I know it wasn't about the prize, but I know that couldn't have helped. He... was afraid that the people he loved were in danger. That's motivation enough for many people, isn't it? It could have been even worse next time.
ftr had not yet read Vita's letter
Besides... the Commander said Karma and everyone were OK. Even with Akira's good intentions it didn't save anyone... Or she's just making up everything?

[He sighs and looks at what she's been doing.]
What... ah. What were you trying to make?

We had leftovers from the contest. I didn't slice it enough back then for reasons.

It just seemed like eggplant would be fresher than chicken. And I don't know, someone might be vegetarian.

It's easy enough... the MREs aren't so bad. I know they're not fine dining, but it's a lot better than it could be, you know.
