THE SECOND TRIAL
[Soon after the failed attempt to contact the dead, the tell-tale alarm suddenly rings out, rattling everyone's teeth alongside Marie's voice.]
ATTENTION! EMERGENCY ALERT! PLEASE GO TO THE ELEVATORS IMMEDIATELY!! HMHMHMMM! I WILL NEVER GET TIRED OF SAYING THAT...!
[And so, once again, the elevators bring everyone back down to the trial room, where the table has been...altered, slightly, color-wise, to reflect those who are no longer among you. And once more, upon entering the force field, weapons disappear - and powers fail to work.
Bottson hops up onto the center of the table, transmitting the evidence found.]
heRe yOU Are eVerYBOdy! THe sUsPECt lISt!
YoU cAN Do THiS!
[Above everyone once more is Marie, floating around in her hover platform.]
WELL, WELL! FANCY MEETING YOU ALL HERE AGAIN! I GUESS YOU ALL FAILED TO KEEP THAT GUY ALIVE, HUH?? AHAHAHA!!
WELL, LET'S SEE IF YOU CAN GET WHO DID IT THIS TIME, HMM??

Actually, now that I think on it, how do we know our saboteur isn't the killer in this case, framing Molly or someone else? The goal is to get away with it, isn't it?
no subject
But that's possible. The saboteur could indeed be the killer.

I understand why you did what you did, but I'm not exactly pleased. But that's different than angry.

Did Rosenkreuz try to kill you?
no subject
If what you're driving at is 'is this case like the last one, where someone killed in self defense', then no.

... Yes, but I'm not the one that showed up late to everything and continued to be cagey about his answers, am I? If you were really so concerned about your alibi, you could have come and seen me. I was awake, trying to keep an eye on the first floor for a good majority of the night.
Actually, I find it rather confusing you're not trying very hard to prove your own innocence. Surely someone as intellectually gifted as you would know what's on the line and care enough to fight a little bit... harder, wouldn't you? Would you really let us just sit here and accuse you?

No matter what I say, people are going to twist what I mean against me. I've been accused of murder more times than I can count. I'm not afraid of facing another execution.

[ He heard that last week. ]
...Naoya. Did you kill Rosenkreuz?
no subject
You don't get to say his name!
no subject
...Naoya. Answer the question.
no subject
How dare you bring him up into this!
[Never mind that Naoya kind of brought him up first... he looks about ready to reach over to the next spot.]

The whole thing is one fluid movement and takes less than a second.]
You've been asked a question, Naoya-san. Anger isn't going to do much of anything right now. So hold onto it for later.
no subject
There is no evidence that I killed him. And clearly none of you are going to listen to what I say.
no subject
...Naoya. That isn't answering the question. Did you kill Rosenkreuz?
no subject
There's no evidence to suggest that I killed him. And hard proof is the only thing that matters.

I did find it strange we had a surprising lack of it.
