[Awaken.

Fifteen strangers have been gathered to the Depths.

When the strangers awaken, they will feel nauseous in their stomachs. No doubt confused. Maybe a little sick, Perhaps, even terrified. And certainly, there is a good reason for it - they are not where they were before. If they had powers back where they came from, they seem to be all gone. And it appears that someone has left...guidelines for them. All of them addressed to a specific Title.

Their Title. Somehow, each person knows, upon seeing this, this is their Title, even if it seems to make no sense whatsoever. And its clear that whoever wrote these things knew it as well. Who was it?

Its uncertain. So far, there seems to be no one else save for them, and those who dare to venture out of their rooms - save, for some reason, the individuals in rooms 1, 8 and 7 - in this hot and stuffy place. No...'intercessor' to be seen yet, certainly. No outward signs that there's anyone else aside from the people with 'Titles'.


So, Titled: welcome.

[Oh, he's being addressed. That means he's free to speak, right? With absolutely no change in expression.]

A little, but that mostly went away after I got up. Does this kitchen belong to you?

It belongs to our... captors. Whoever they may be.

I have, however, covered it from top to bottom. Are you looking for something in particular?

Just something to eat. I wasn't sure if I'd get in trouble for taking something or not...

Psh. [ Laslow waves a gloves hand dismissively. ] If someone were to get angry at you for that, I would take the full blame. Go ahead and eat.

[His eyes light up and the tone of excitement in his voice almost makes him seem like a normal child...if not for the fact that his face is still lacking anything even resembling a smile.]

R-really? If you're sure, thanks!

[He runs into the kitchen to grab...pretty much the first thing he can reach. Before he takes it down, though, he seems to remember something and turns to offer a small nod of his head.]

I-I mean...thank you for your kindness, sir. I'm Ru-um, URTV Unit #666.

[ Laslow would be disturbed by the lack of a smile if he were not used to this from Nyx. It's the name that confuses him, however. ]

Ah, that's quite a mouthful. You need something shorter.

In order to cultivate my sense of individuality as a Variant URTV, I've been given a nickname separate from my number. If it would make it easier for you to interact with me, you can call me Rubedo instead.

[His expression stays neutral, but his voice is practically begging Laslow to use Rubedo instead.]

A Variant... URTV.... [ Laslow isn't sure how to take that, so he smiles and nods. He knows when he is supposed to do something, and this child definitely wants him to use this name. ] Rubedo it is.

[His eyes light up again, and there's definitely more energy to him as he hauls his chosen animal carcass over to a table.]

Yeah. Me, Albedo and Nigredo are different from the other units and have our own personalities, so we're the Variants. The Standards are weaker and all share one mind, so they don't have names of their own.
