[Awaken.

Fifteen strangers have been gathered to the Depths.

When the strangers awaken, they will feel nauseous in their stomachs. No doubt confused. Maybe a little sick, Perhaps, even terrified. And certainly, there is a good reason for it - they are not where they were before. If they had powers back where they came from, they seem to be all gone. And it appears that someone has left...guidelines for them. All of them addressed to a specific Title.

Their Title. Somehow, each person knows, upon seeing this, this is their Title, even if it seems to make no sense whatsoever. And its clear that whoever wrote these things knew it as well. Who was it?

Its uncertain. So far, there seems to be no one else save for them, and those who dare to venture out of their rooms - save, for some reason, the individuals in rooms 1, 8 and 7 - in this hot and stuffy place. No...'intercessor' to be seen yet, certainly. No outward signs that there's anyone else aside from the people with 'Titles'.


So, Titled: welcome.

[ Maglor watches him with the swords quietly for a little before speaking ]

You have had some training, then?

[almightyconflagration]

[He's seeming to be liking the particular greatsword he's holding. It's not quite the same as his own, but probably the closest match he's going to get from something lacking in powers.]

A bit. [He says this in a bored sounding tone, but his form says it's a lot more than a bit.] I've had a lot of various sorts of training over the years.

[bythewaves]

[ Maglor crooks an eyebrow at him ]

In different weapons or different styles?

[almightyconflagration]

Both. Assuming you consider fire a weapon.

[bythewaves]

[ Maglor blinks a little and hums curiously ]

I have never heard fire called so - I have seen it used, of course, but the great Fire-drakes merely spew it without grace, and even Saruman's machinery made use of it for a weapon, not as one.

[almightyconflagration]

Yeah, what I could do wasn't without grace. This place seems to have blocked it, but what I did was more akin to willing it to exist and shaping it as I wished.

[bythewaves]

[ That generates a raised eyebrow ]

That is an unusual gift indeed, for I had not heard that any of the children of men could do such a thing.

[almightyconflagration]

You still haven't. I just look human and am probably stuck looking human with this place blocking our natural abilities.

[bythewaves]

[ Maglor blinks and then crooks his head, eyeing him carefully ]

You do not have the look or feel of one of the Powers, I do not think. Indeed, you look entirely human. [ Apart from the hair ]

What are you, if I might ask?

[almightyconflagration]

Mixed, or maybe it would be easier to just say I'm a demon since that's most of it.

[bythewaves]

[ Maglor stiffens, and his eyes flash, something old and very dangerous, before he veils it ]

You do not have the feel of the demons I know. [ Is all he says, but his voice has cooled ]

[almightyconflagration]

Well, obviously since this is the first time I've ever seen you, I'm not a demon you know.

[bythewaves]

Not that. [ Maglor is studying him now, watching him warily ]

I have fought the Enemy at every turn for millenia now, and I think I would know Him and His servants, even with my abilities blunted as they are here.

But you do not feel foul, the way they do.

[almightyconflagration]

Have you considered the fact that we may be from different places with different rule? My abilities are blunted as well, but a demon is more a master of an element, fire in my case.

[bythewaves]

[ Maglor's eyes narrow thoughtfully ]

So it is a translation issue, then. Because we would say you are one of the ainur - the holy ones - the spirits of the world, and not one of the Fallen.

[almightyconflagration]

[He laughs in response to that.] Oh the Septian Church would have conniptions at the idea of one of their hated enemies being considered holy.

[He stops laughing.] Maybe a force of nature is a better way to think of it. Would you think of fire as being foul just because it could burn down a town if someone misuses it?

[bythewaves]

[ Maglor's smile is wry, and... perhaps, oddly, a little fond ]

I do not blame the storm for wishing to storm. Lord Osse is the wildest of the Maiar, but he is not Fallen, the way Sauron became. We call them holy, the powers of the world, but that does not make them nice. And the powers, I find, sometimes forget that we Incarnates are... squishy.

[almightyconflagration]

And with nature, sometimes those disasters have a purpose. There's no reason to get stronger if there isn't any danger or a strong foe to defeat.

[bythewaves]

[ Maglor laughs softly, memories in his eyes ]

Maybe. But I think Lord Osse just simply enjoys the chaos, sometimes.
